“I recently enjoyed a delightful luncheon with friends at this establishment. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, and the staff was exceptionally courteous. The food was, without a doubt, delicious. I certainly plan to return.”

“This was not just a restaurant, this was a gastronomic experience unlike anything else we have ever had. Booked as a 30th Birthday dinner we were delighted by how special we were made to feel at the Chef's Table. Lornette and Ben run the restaurant and were like old friends within minutes, the atmosphere and surroundings were superb and the food was to die for. They offered a chef's table tasting menu that consisted of 10 courses, each was meticulously prepared and presented with flair, in front of our eyes. It was a meal worthy of all our senses: sight, taste, touch, sound and the amazing smell. It was pure theatre on a plate (or rather lots of plates). Each course was explained, matched with wine and savoured completely. Nothing was overwhelming or too big and surprisingly every ingredient was made to taste wonderful. It was a very special 30th birthday that prompted us to try something different and we are so glad we did. We will remember this meal, and the wonderful Lornette and Ben forever. We have told everyone we know about it and hope to find room on their books to book again. It was simply majestic.”

“First of all this place is absolutely gorgeous and the food was so so good. We stumbled across this restaurant while stuck in traffic. And we arrived with our toddler, bags and in our work clothes (after installing a messy Christmas display covered in pine needles) the restaurant has a formal feel and next time we pop by we will definitely dress up for the occasion. Any special requests were handled professionally and without hesitation, which made the experience even better. The service deserves special praise. “Valle D’Oro is a wonderful family run independent Italian Restaurant in Newbury town centre, it’s food and drink selection is very good, so many options for steaks, the service was fast and friendly and you could tell the staff really care about their customers and the venue itself is cosy and well decorated. I had the steak in peppercorn sauce, I think if I ordered again I’d go for rare instead of medium rare. The fillet steak itself was incredible, it’s in my top five all time steaks, and it one of my go to items on menus so I’ve had lots in the past. The peppercorn sauce was also excellent, very thick and incredibly peppery, creamy goodness. The portion sizes are massive, so be careful not to over order, the vegetable selection looked amazing but we had no room left to try it. This is a great local business, it’s been located in Newbury since the 1080’s and you can see why it’s been so successful and long lived, it’s just brilliant, most highly recommend”

“Gilbey's is a lovely hotel situated above a small restaurant in the heart of Eton just a 20 minute walk from Windsor Castle. We stayed in a beautifully decorated room with an equally lovely ensuite shower room and the most comfortable bed I've slept in. The staff at Gilbey's were very polite, friendly and helpful throughout. We opted for a full English breakfast which is an additional cost and served in the restaurant and it was worth every penny. The food was of an excellent quality and tasted amazing. We would most definitely stay here again.”

“We enjoyed eating at the Reading Room last night. The whole experience was amazing. It wasn’t our first time there, so I’m happy the standard is consistently high. The food was delicious and looked beautiful. The staff were very professional and although they were always nearby, it didn’t feel awkward. The dinner finished with a really sweet, personal touch - couple of chocolates on a plate with a sign „happy anniversary”. I highly recommend the restaurant.”

Burger and chips were faultless - caramelised onions always take it to another level for me. The meringue dessert was also just right. Would have liked a few more non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks options but not a deal-breaker by far. Came to £37 which included 2 drinks, starter, main and dessert.”

“Browns brasserie and bar was recommended to me and what a recommendation! Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service to the food. We were seated quickly, given time to settle in before asking for our drinks order (I hate being asked before I've even had the opportunity to muse the drinks menu!) though we were asked if we wanted water. Our waiter, Daniel, was very good and accommodating, even offering items not on the menu. I ordered the side salad of rocket and tomato and he offered a proper mixed salad instead, which was a really nice touch. Starters: The salt and pepper squid was really good, served with an absolute divine sauce. The mushrooms were tenderly cooked so they were still full of flavour. Main: The prawn and crab linguine was very tasty with just about the right amount of crab to add a delightful but not overpowering taste. The pesto lightly complimented the pasta, prawns and crab. The chips were golden, fluffy and generously dusted with parmesan cheese. The mixed side salad was just that, including radish and cucumber plus different types of greeny, not just said rocket. No dessert as we both felt nicely full. The coffee served was very good, strong without being bitter. Throughout our meal, we were checked on regularly by Daniel but not in an interfering or intrusive way. Browns is not a cheap night out with the bill, including a service charge of 10% was just over £115 (2 starters, two mains, two sides, 4 glasses of wine and one coffee), however, in my view, definitely worth it! Browns is the epitome of how to do service and food exceptionally well! Bravo Browns!”

“All together we had a great dinner family time. We ordered a starter and 2 juicy burgers for us adults and kids eat free during school holidays which is kind and nice from the restaurant, especially for families with kids. Even if one of the burgers was not the way it was meant to be, the branch manager apologised and kindly replaced it for my wife and did not even charged for her entire order, including the drink. That was both polite and going above and beyond, as this can be a point of deciding if you ever come back to a restaurant based on your experience, and it all falls on the way the staff (including management) approach the issue and find a swift solution. Reason why we scored 5 stars and we thank Tillie for finding us a table last minute even if we had no booking on a Friday night.”

“A nicely located pub just in the heart of Prospect Park. The place has plenty of free parking (don’t forget to register at check in). The menu is quite ‘suculent’ with lots of options and nicely cooked food (not a fish ‘n’ chip bar). The view is great over the park with a quiet ambiance. You can have salad as much as you like which is a vegan’s paradise. Waiting time for taking the order is a bit long but quite polite so doesn’t feel rushed in any way. Book and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner with family, friends or just on your own.”

“An absolutely gorgeous pub! The food was excellent - everything tasted home made, whether it was or not. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I had the pie with red cabbage and the red cabbage was far too sweet - the same for the gravy with the sausages and mash. Other than that, the best pub meal I've had in a long time and everyone else agreed.”
