“Great little spot for tasty, wholesome food in the beautiful Goring. Amazing juices, soups and sandwiches. The shakshuka was one of the best I’ve had! Friendly service and care taken to note your dietary requirements. I’m dairy & gluten free and have no trouble finding something delicious to eat every visit.”

“My wife and I feel like we’ve grown up with Heaven’s Kitchen. They now have a few branches but this is the original location. It opened just after we moved to the area. As we were refurbishing our house at the time and had a long time without a kitchen, we had to eat out lot during that time. So, we got to know the staff well In those early days, the weakness was consistency as they seemed to go through quite a few chefs. Still, we loved the bruschetta and mushroom risotto, which sadly aren’t on the menu any more Yesterday, we came back after not coming for awhile. Service was a bit slow but very friendly - there were just 2 staff working flat out. The food was really tasty. Bone marrow, seafood linguine and ribeye steak were all wolfed down Great to see HK flourishing”

“I celebrated my 21st birthday at Cote Brasserie with my girlfriend. Sam, Melissa and Angel were brilliant waiters, very attentive and friendly. Made my birthday very special and even gave me a card which was a lovely touch! Thank you :)”

Immediately after a lovely morning cruise, and the brain calories burnt along the way in speed using a knots system, then immediately off the boat and straight into this fabulous riverside restaurant that enables dine al fresco with a shade, to avoid getting burnt! “Always so friendly here, I’ve been almost bedridden for the last few weeks because of my depression and Pierre’s baguettes have been single-handedly keeping me fed, it’s affordable,tasty and accessible on deliveroo which really helps people like me for when I feel like I’m trapped at home but need something that won’t break the bank, it’s always delivered so quick as well 15-20 minutes usually and I live far outside of town. Such a lovely place to grab something cheap for lunch and the workers are always so kind, really a gem in Reading”

“Definitely a unique experience. Been there only once for breakfast. Not only were the staff kind and courteous, they were very quick with service and I was able to pay easily for my food and drink. Not to mention they had some foods I'd never even heard of, and new pasta shapes. It was kind of relaxing, just sitting and enjoying a simple brownie and a cup of tea. Would definitely recommend for you early birds.”

“An absolute gem of a spot, authentic in terms of food and atmosphere. A good variety of halal/veg options as well. The roast duck was especially good, perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin. Highly recommend. I'm looking forward to being back soon.”

These were perfectly cooked and the sausages were juicy and flavorful. For our main courses, I had the chicken curry and my partner had the steak and ale pie. Both dishes were delicious. The chicken curry was rich and flavorful, and the steak and ale pie was hearty and filling. The service at The Volunteer was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the selection of beers on tap. Overall, we had a great experience at The Volunteer. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great meal in Theale.
