Reasonable food. The sausages were a strange taste and texture, left them. The eggs, hash browns, tomatoes, and fried bread were good. The bacon seemed too thick and was probably not smoked, but that is personal taste. The portions are very generous. However, full, very noisy, hard to relax. Probably choose somewhere else next time. Good value though.
Great food, quick service, pretty good prices... I had the English breakfast. Next time I would get it with regular toast instead of fried bread. Tea was great!
This place is so nice! Perfect for a good breakfast, brunch or meal alone or in company. Amazing! If you go to Reading in the morning or midday, make sure you pop in
A nice building with attractive wooden interiors and seating, and pleasant friendly staff, but unfortunately the food leaves a lot to be desired. Burger and chips for example - just a dry patty in a roll with zero salad or dressing other than some mayo. No effort whatsoever put into making it appetising or interesting, very lazy and well overpriced. A real pity as it could be a great place.
Boy, this diner took me back. Simple, inexpensive and efficient. Monster Full English was just that. Choice of tomato or beans, mug o’builders tea or coffee. All very generic but well cooked and served with care and a smile. Good, old-fashioned breakfast in a classic Greasy Spoon location on a main roundabout just over the river from Caversham High Street. Great when you’re in the mood.
Trust me guys. If you haven't eat breakfast here, you missed very big thing. Breakfast is amazing. Quality super, quantity huge, taste awesome, service best, place fabulous and staff wonderful. Perfect place to start lovely day.
If you haven't eat breakfast in George Cafe you haven't eat breakfast at all. Big portion, fresh, delicious. Staff very friendly and with smile on face all the time. Highly recommended. For sure will be back there very soon.
One of the more delicious "Greasy Spoons" I've been to! Very tasty food, lovely people, and delightful building in a great location!
