A legendary spot in Newbury which is an institution! Family run. Fresh food, good value. Well worth a visit. I has the steak which was excellent. Starter (avocado and prawns) also excellent.
Me and my girlfriend had an amazing dinner you could literally taste the authenticity and love that went into every bite, we were looked after and well catered for the whole time we were there. John was very kind and the whole staff was amazing. And it was very affordable with generous portions. Definitely recommend for any occasion. We will be coming back for more…
Had an amazing meal here with friends. some of the best Italian food I've had in a long while. Interior is very plain but classy, the menu covers a wide range of classic dishes and specials. The staff were superb, and the Italian mama who runs it was both charming and fun. A really good experience. Pity we only get to Newbury once or twice a year as I'd eat here every time.
Authentic little Italian restaurant just off the main high street. The Italian lady who served us was incredibly welcoming, almost like stepping inside her home. The food is very good and full of flavour. We didn't feel at all rushed with a huge amount of choice on the menu. A nut allergy was catered for amazingly, and they explained they don't use nuts on or in anything except the trifle. We'll definitely be retuning here.
Valle D’Oro is a wonderful family run independent Italian Restaurant in Newbury town centre, it’s food and drink selection is very good, so many options for steaks, the service was fast and friendly and you could tell the staff really care about their customers and the venue itself is cosy and well decorated. I had the steak in peppercorn sauce, I think if I ordered again I’d go for rare instead of medium rare. The fillet steak itself was incredible, it’s in my top five all time steaks, and it one of my go to items on menus so I’ve had lots in the past. The peppercorn sauce was also excellent, very thick and incredibly peppery, creamy goodness. The portion sizes are massive, so be careful not to over order, the vegetable selection looked amazing but we had no room left to try it. This is a great local business, it’s been located in Newbury since the 1080’s and you can see why it’s been so successful and long lived, it’s just brilliant, most highly recommend
Wonderful food, good sized portions Carmen and Carlos are excellent hosts. I enjoyed the White bait starter followed by the veal in a mushroom sauce and vegetables.
This restaurant is one of our favourite Italian in restaurant in Newbury . Food is always fresh and so delicious and struggling to finish the portion. Staff and the owner are friendly and lovely a”the atmosphere is very welcoming.Highly recommended for a best Italian dinner in town :)
Go hungry, I mean so hungry you are literally crawling on your knees through their door. The food portions are nothing short of huge. I had the cured meat starter, spaghetti and meatballs (in a spicy tomato sauce to die for) and a door stop wedge of strawberry cheesecake. The meats were fresh and tasty, the pasta was cooked just right, the meatballs fell apart on the fork and the cheesecake was just pure indulgence. I didn't get the garlic, heartburn hangover that some Italian restaurants can leave you with either. Go hungry, book well ahead - they are very busy, and enjoy the fantastic authentic food and excellent service, the hosts are itallian and incredibly friendly.
Excellent Italian family run restaurant. Absolutely amazing food with generous portions, and friendly owners. Will be back again.
Have eaten here a couple of times and it never fails. Lovely family run restaurant. The staff are inviting and welcoming. The menu is definitely for meat and fish lovers The! But some vegetarian options as well. Food is outstanding, and the portion sizes are more than enough. You really won't we walking out of there feeling hungry! Great wine selection also. An all round great dining experience. Will always come back.
