I rarely ever leave reviews on Google but feel like I need to let everyone know about this place…. We came here for my partners birthday as Indian is his favourite cuisine but admittedly, lately I’ve been a bit tired of it and feel like in most restaurants the curries taste really similar. The customer service and waiting staff are so lovely, patient and attentive and helped advise ys what to order for a group of six. We ordered lots of papadums, the Samosa Chat, Kerala fish curry, biryani, lamb chettinadu and lamb palak -honestly, the flavours hit me in a way that I never expected. Every single curry was so intricate with a depth of flavour only achievable with a serious amount of effort, know-how and time. I honestly couldnt possibly say which curry was our favourite but if you haven’t tried a Chettinadu before (like me) this is one I’d strongly recommend! To round off the meal, they presented my partner with a gorgeous slice of cake with a candle! It genuinely is the little things that leave a lasting impression. Chili’s has genuinely reignited my love for proper Indian food, and there is absolutely nowhere else I will go now, so thankyou! I urge you to support this business as Reading needs more glorious independent restaurants like this one. I want to try and come back once a month if possible and try the whole menu, aswell as the South Indian one!

I have always ordered food from chillies or either dined at the restaurant and loved the food. But sadly recently I did not have a good experience. We ordered a lot of out of which the gravy was nice but the fried rice and noodles had too much pepper. I mentioned to the lady that 1 fried rice β€œno spicy” and said it was for my children and fries. But I’m sure when she mentioned to the kitchen they heard β€œmore spicy” but the fried rice box which was for the kids was the spiciest. I had to mix the fried rice with plain cooked rice at home. The noodle and rest of the fried rice was spicy and loaded of pepper. Never had this experience before, I had recommended this place to many and they too mentioned that they never had such problem but not sure what happened this time.

As a fan of Indian food we thought we would try the new Chili's and we were definitely impressed. The menu being regional to Southern India means it is not what you see in your typical curry house, but the waiter here was amazing, helping guide our choices and tuning dishes to our taste. If I could I would rate them 6 stars

Lovely decoration inside. A hidden gem in Reading town centre if you ask me. We had 4 starters and it was more than enough food for the two of us. We had: - Gobi Manchurian - Chicken 65 - Crispy Corn - Vegetable Samosa Chaat All 4 were amazing, but the crispy corn took us by surprise with how lovely and punchy it was. Portion sizes were generous for sure Staff were excellent and attentive, and even offered to tweak the Gobi Manchurian since we had ordered 4 sauce-less dishes. We also ordered the homemade pistachio ice cream, and it was excellent. You could actually taste the cream, and it was both creamy and delicately sweet - no artificial taste to it at all. We'll definitely be coming back again. There's so much of the menu we're dying to try.

One of the greatest South Indian restaurants. The ratings provided were correct. A delicious curry with a kick of heat. The service was friendly, and the food was served promptly. Thank you very much. I'll definitely go back.

Sweet surprise was this restaurant. We tasted Vegeterian and every single dish was amazing. Curries, naans, rice, biryani, starters were all good and felt for once that I am back in South India. It is a family led restaurant and the owners themselves were super active and friendly. Their story was amazing, all tge very best to them. Decent place for parties as well. Fried rice, starters were excellent. Will visit again.

It was an extremely pleasant experience to come here. Everything that we ordered was really yum. Would highly recommend chicken 65 and chicken dum biryani. The ambiance is also very warm and comfy. Over all a must visit. Good addition to reading.

Very close to Oracle 2-3 min walk. Situated in 1st level. Table can be booked. we went without booking but got seated soon as the crowd just started after us and crowded soon. Food# Salad's, naans , biryani, french fries razma, dalmakani, paanipoori etc vegetarian options there are also non vegetarian options these all come as part of the buffet. Food wasn't too spicy nor too much flavoured with spice's (Masala) Plain rice was not available but on checking, it has been served to the table. Each adult buffet was 16.95 X 2 33.90 but we got a discount of 50% as part of the opening month discount where we ended up paying 16.95 but coke was charged 3.25 which generally served @ 1.25- 1.85 or at most 2.15 Β£ in most places we had.
