“A part of my heart automatically craves for Butter Chicken every time I step into an Indian restaurant and Sitar absolutely delivered. Rich flavour, comfortable atmosphere, and service so friendly it’s impossible not to smile. A full 10/10 experience! (PS: I was too busy in enjoying the food that literally forgot to click the picture)”

“Went to Pizza Umami on Newcastle Promenade, service was speedy & super friendly. I got a pepperoni pizza with hot honey dip and my friend go prosciutto crisp, both were 10/10! Couldn’t fault and will be back!”
“Great food, very pleasant staff even under pressure right in the heart of the town. Well recommend”
“Called in for lunch while visiting family. We had the sandwich soup combo which came with salad, coleslaw and crisps and the soup with wheaten bread. The vegetable soup was delicious, one of the best I've tasted. The wheaten bread was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and we liked the atmosphere. Very busy which is always a good sign. If the locals eat there you know it's going to be good. Will definitely be eating there again next time we're down.”
“Great selection of activities that span the arts. Lovely staff great location.”
“Everything was good! I cannot fault this place! 6 stars. Liz, John and we met the cook Vlad outside, top marks guys!”
“Accidental find for us but in the future really worth a trip up. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. Food absolutely delicious. Bonus points for being so generous with parmesan!”

“Have been there several times and the place is family friendly and the food is fantastic.”
“Hi, had a beautiful family meal, food was amazing, and the service was second to none, would definitely recommend it, the terrace area, which is a new feature from I was here last is spectacular, views etc.... we will definitely be back.. thank you so much Shane and staff.....”
“The burger was good, but the meat was a bit too done for me. But tasty. The seafood chowder was very, very good.”
“Great experience! Molly who served me was excellent she gave me a five star service. The vegan pizza was OK, the vegan cheese let the pizza a little bit down.”
“We'd booked for 6.30 on Saturday and we're initially confused as the ground floor is a large and not particularly lovely bar. The stairs to the first floor restaurant were discovered and things got much better from thereon. The tables are well spaced, the ambience is pleasant and sufficiently lit, (I hate dark restaurants), the service was swift and friendly, but the star of the show, as it should be, was the food. My wife had the battered cod with chips and all the trimmings in very generous proportions. Delicious. I had one of my favourite dishes, beef cheek with mash and root veg. It was astonishingly good, probably the best I have eaten. The slow cooked cheek had more flavour than fillet steak and a texture that exactly hit the spot that makes this dish so unctuous. It was a huge portion and I savoured every mouthful. As an astonishing surprise we found that The Mariner restaurant was doing a buy one get one free promotion. This has to be our best ever value restaurant meal, but more than that was the quality of the food. Next time we're over in Co. Down we will definitely revisit this unbelievably good place.”
“Had lunch and dinner here on the same day. Different staff from lunch to dinner, but both excellent. Food was great. We're going back again.”
“By far this is the best restaurant in Newcastle for modern fine dining but in a relaxed atmosphere. I selected the 3 course meal from the special Sunday menu for 25 pounds. I started with the soup of the day, potato leak soup. It was surprisingly green and excellent. Of note it was very (temperature) hot which is appropriate. The soup was well seasoned the way I like it, but I have a love of salt. Next came the ham hock rillettes which were very porky and good, served with an excellent bacon jam. Vegetable sides were good and cooked properly. The mashed potato was especially good with obviously a lot of proper butter. Lastly the dessert which surprised me. It was extremely good and although I was very full it went down too easy. I arrived at noon when they opened and was the first diner of the day. By 13:30 the place was half full. The portions look smaller but are very filling and honestly I would be very happy spilling every course with another as it was a little too much food.”
“I absolutely recommend trying their mushroom and chicken vol-au-vent for starters; it's a delicious choice. The cauliflower tempura is accompanied by a fantastic sauce that adds an extra layer of flavor. And if you have a sweet tooth, their cheesecake has always been a favorite of mine. Overall, the food here is consistently great!”
“Amazing food and staff were very friendly”

“Great Chinese but 5er corkage. Bring it down and you'll do great as your beef curry is fab . A great Hidden gem. The young girls are so attentive and have great service skills .”

“Always had a reputation as a very good eatery”
“"Northern Ireland, can we have KFC?" "We have KFC at home!" KFC at home: Country Fried Chicken (now Herron's) I say that phrase with absolute affection. Country Fried Chicken is a place that is so good it genuinely elevates the quality of fried chicken across the country. Store-to-store quality may vary, but on the whole this place is a great place to eat, at Newcastle is no exception. Although that is probably not true, as this one is exceptional. The staff are friendly, the service is fast, the food is great, all the hallmarks of a good take-away. I didn't mention it in my KFC review, but these take-outs being on opposite sides of the road really elevates how good both chains over here are. By having this friendly competition rather than an outright monopoly, both chains are free to expand in different directions for different customers, and as such seem to strive to be better places to eat in general. A very positive relationship that results in many a satisfied customer, myself included!”
“Picturesque place with good carvery and an affordable price. Totally recommended”
“Excellent takeaway would highly recommend. Have tried a few dishes from it all are delicious. Personal favourite are their satay dishes but there honey chilli, blackbean and amber fire sauces are also very good. Decent sized portions and priced similar to other Chinese takeaways. Worth a visit I deffo be back for more”
