“A real old fashioned Irish pub with great history which makes for brilliant atmosphere and good crack, there's even claims that its the oldest pub in Ireland. It also holds Whiskey tasting from local distilleries which must be book in advance due to its demand. Highly recommend this wee pub.”
“The perfect way to end the evening! Chatting with John you would have thought we knew each other for years! If you want the small town pub experience, then you will find it here!”
“We cannot recommend this bar highly enough. The owner of the bar extended a level of kindness to four weary walkers that was above and way beyond. Irish hospitality and kindness at its very best. A great bar. Ps. hope Southhampton make it back to the premiership”
“Proper pub, cosy and snug; great people, friendly and welcoming and the best few pints of Guinness around - good temp, creamy and thick. Great Irish bar.”
“Brilliant. The food was perfect and high quality, the staff were friendly and helpful. I had one of the best steaks I've ever tasted. Easy recommendation to anyone thinking about going.”
“Good Food and service. Went for Sunday lunch and the food was tasty. 3 courses for £28.95. The kids also enjoyed their food, 2 course for £10.95. The staff are also so nice and allowed us to move table. Will definitely be back!”
“Well stocked with a good supply of local beers such as Mourne brewery and whitewater Pub is great for football and a lovely beer garden for the summer months facing castlewellan forest park”
“Great spot for a pint on the road or for a smashing night of music at the weekend. Great beach 30 second walk from the bar.”
“Friendly, atmospheric traditional bar.”
“I do not hate this bar. It is probably the best bar in. Catering for all sports fans and the beers not bad!”
“Great seafood place. This was our first real meal during this trip to Northern Ireland. It's some of the best food I've had so far. The salmon curry had so much flavor. The seafood chowder was perfect. You could tell the cook was well trained and to care to make these dishes. The staff was super friendly and helpful.”
“Have been there several times and the place is family friendly and the food is fantastic.”
“Lovely, family owned restaurant and bar in the middle of a bunch of mountains and has a beautiful view from a huge window. I live just down the road but I still love going down there for a family night. The interior is beautiful and has a nice warm feel. Had great vegetarian options.”
“Lovely friendly and welcoming bar. Good company. Great nights entertainment. Lovely welcoming and friendly staff”

“Good craic, fantastic pints, lots of pool and snooker table and it's 100% cash only for reference”
“First time visiting harrys bar this weekend. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was lively and extremely busy. Staff despite being extremely busy were very friendly and attention to detail was impeccable.”
“Had lunch and dinner here on the same day. Different staff from lunch to dinner, but both excellent. Food was great. We're going back again.”
“What a cracker! Decided to stop in for lunch. Really friendly staff and great food. I can recommend the pork ribs genuine Irish pub. The Guinness is good and the food comes out quick. I’m not sure if there’s any outdoor season but the inside is where the magic is at anyway.”
“Excellent food and excellent service. We had the large portion of brisket (absolutely delicious and our favorite), the small portion of ribs (good but not great (I thought the sauce was just okay. Though in all fairness my friend liked these second best.), the small portion of duck (delicious. My second favorite) , and the sweet potato fries. We finished off the meal with a Sticky Toffee Pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream (WOW !!!). The server said they recommend two small items per person. We had one large, two small and a side. It was actually too much. I would recommend three smalls or one large and one small for two people. I would highly recommend eating at Art Bar Funkel.”
“I would highly recommend eating at Juniors Bar Carlingford. The food was exceptional, especially their famous curry and the customer service and atmosphere were a delight. We will definitely be back!”
“We'd booked for 6.30 on Saturday and we're initially confused as the ground floor is a large and not particularly lovely bar. The stairs to the first floor restaurant were discovered and things got much better from thereon. The tables are well spaced, the ambience is pleasant and sufficiently lit, (I hate dark restaurants), the service was swift and friendly, but the star of the show, as it should be, was the food. My wife had the battered cod with chips and all the trimmings in very generous proportions. Delicious. I had one of my favourite dishes, beef cheek with mash and root veg. It was astonishingly good, probably the best I have eaten. The slow cooked cheek had more flavour than fillet steak and a texture that exactly hit the spot that makes this dish so unctuous. It was a huge portion and I savoured every mouthful. As an astonishing surprise we found that The Mariner restaurant was doing a buy one get one free promotion. This has to be our best ever value restaurant meal, but more than that was the quality of the food. Next time we're over in Co. Down we will definitely revisit this unbelievably good place.”
“We had a lovely dinner. The service staff were friendly and gave excellent service. The food was on point. The bar was busy but still a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.”
“Friendly atmosphere and would defo go back anytime.”

“Great boozer, fantastic welcome from John and the team during Irish Open week. Guinness is 10/10 and the craic is 11”
