“It was a special family lunch in the NEW restaurant, as we stepped into the welcoming atmosphere where Bronagh greeted us warmly... I made sure to catch Alex before leaving to express our gratitude for the unforgettable lunch experience. Throughout the meal, we were treated to a delightful culinary journey, punctuated by moments of pure enjoyment with each dish. From the delicate fish cake to the succulent lamb main, every bite was a revelation. And that Brownie? A sweet finale to a perfect midday meal. The impeccable service only enhanced our dining experience, leaving us already planning our next visit. We've even booked a table for the whole family in the next few weeks, eager to share this culinary gem with them. It was truly a pleasure to chat with Alex and thank him for such a memorable dining experience.”

“Beautiful wedding venue. The party area for the reception was so well decorated and the balcony made for a great cool down zone post dance marathon. The bar staff were really lovely, especially a ginger-y gentleman who was working at the bar upstairs. Very friendly and working his butt off to keep up with a lot of big drinks orders. I didn't stay in the guest rooms that night but I have heard from family that it was a great stay.”

“The staff were super attentive and recommended me awesome beer. The steak ciabatta with pepper sauce was delicious, and it was a generous portion too. Cherry on top, they served my food freshly cooked super quick, and the steak was perfectly cooked to medium as requested. All in all, I totally recommend it,”

“It felt like a night at the best 'local'. The rooms were well designed and different in the best way. The staff were great, the food good. Breakfast was excellent. Live music on the night we stayed and the locals gave us great craic.”

“I’ve not had better tacos outside of Mexico and San Diego. These are proper - no Tex Mex nonsense. Delicious. And everything on the menu is gluten-free. I don’t understand the complaints about the size. For tacos, these are pretty big. They’re not starter size. I had beef tacos and half a portion of the nachos and that did me - and I’m a bit of a pig. Sure, they’re not cheap, but they are value for money because you’re getting quality. Lovely bunch of people too. The one downside is it’s only open four days a week.”

“Amazing family experience. This really got us and the kids into the Xmas spirit. Really well done. The kids had a ball. Visiting Santa made the whole experience he spoke to them about their favourite things and what they wanted for Xmas. Highly recommend is a tad expensive tho.”

“First time visiting this quirky/ cool place and it will be the first of many! Best fry I’ve had in years, no grease, quality products and I am extremely hard to please with food. Not one fault at all. Lovely coffee too. Excited to return soon”

“Fantastic walk from here with a viewing area and great country walk to the sea and the Bloody Bridge. It was very windy when we visited so had huge waves crashing in from the sea. Very atmospheric. Climbing over rocks under the bridge was great but a bit risky if you don’t want to risk getting wet! Free car park with toilets but is apparently very busy in the summer.”

“Had an overnight stay room very spacious bed was comfortable had everything that I needed. Also dog friendly which was very handy would recommend a stay and will definitely be back again”

“Shocked to read the comments below about the two lady’s at the till being rude as my personal experience with both of them have always been nothing but pleasant & friendly . We had the Pad Thai number 9 combo noodle box over the weekend and it was sooo delicious . I’ve been going to Thai Noodle for 7 years now & it never fails to disappoint. Elaine x”

“After cycling all day I needed to find somewhere to eat. Few places were open but then I found this: superb. Really lovely local craft beer which made a refreshing change, and superb food.”

“Best Takeaway of the Town, Chilli Masala Really good tapas, a really nice mix of classic southern and modern fare. The dishes are cooked and served immediately so everything is piping hot and each has a secret sauce that the dishes are smothered in. Green peppers are one that I'm still craving today. Same with falafel. Fish was incredible something everyone should try.”

“Nice chips. The chicken goujons were lovely and had a nice batter on them. There's really not much to complain about. I would recommend, however, that you ask them to go a bit easier on the salt. The last time I got mine, it was flooding with salt.”

“I love this hotel staff are great and do go that extra mile We were there for our 28 th wedding anniversary (reception was at millbrook). We were given a suite and a lovely card and some treats awaited us on arrival beautiful room good wide bath well with a visit”

“Fantastic experience! Super comfortable beds, tasty food, crisp pints and unreal staff. Cannot recommend enough. Only thing that needs work is the coffee which is far from a deal breaker.”

“I wanted to sit by the fire and sink pints all day here. Perfect Winter boozer with the fire going and great guinness. Staff were amazing, so quick and were great with the kids. The seafood is great. Fish Tacos were average and a bit bland but the mussels were amazing. Will deffo come back and without the car.”

“Room 4 for the weekend. Staff were so helpful and attentive. Especially the guy serving breakfast on both days and the young lady on Sunday morning. So friendly and welcoming. Ate here both nights. Food was really tasty and filling. Plenty of seats in the bar. Band on Saturday night. And free entry to the disco. Ventured in to laugh at the hens and stags who had been drinking in PJs all day. Breakfast was fab.”
