Always loved the Belmont. Called in yesterday for food in the bar. Had a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday evening. Meal was excellent and cosy reasonable.
Lovely little hotel in a nice town. Very old world, classy feel in a beautifully kept building. Rooms are large and clean. Staff are very nice and seems genuinely happy to be there. Breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience! Super comfortable beds, tasty food, crisp pints and unreal staff. Cannot recommend enough. Only thing that needs work is the coffee which is far from a deal breaker.
Very disappointed. Called in with my family after a long day. Ordered the carbonara and it was mostly mush and was fairly inedible. Made with a mixture of fresh and what tasted like tinned mushrooms and was swimming in a heavy sauce. All the food ordered was so bland. The duck was like rubber on a woeful variety of stir fried veg. Nothing was seasoned or garnished. The place itself was nice, the bar area was nice and decor was nice. Not once did the staff ask if everything was ok not even when paying the bill. Seemed like their day was as long as ours and they just couldn’t be bothered. It was fine but we’ll definitely not be back! Have had better food and service from our local takeaway.
Only had food here so sadly, I can't say anything about the rooms. The food was very nice and the staff were helpful. Sadly, we were in the bar downstairs as the restaurant was fully booked. So was a bit of a letdown as it had no atmosphere.
Lovely food. Can eat in the bar downstairs or upstairs in the seated area which is alot more pleasant. Have dined here several times and never had a dish that I haven't enjoyed. Average price based on the going rate for the town. Pleasant service so can't complain.
Fantastic staff... super lunch... highly recommended! And thank you for your attention to detail re wheelchair user... we'll be back again ASAP. What a beautiful hotel.
Went here for a work colleagues surprise birthday party. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. All the food served looked delicious and excellent portions. I myself had the seafood risotto and I must say, it was absolutely delicious and filling with a portion of gorgeous garlic bread on the side. Highly recommend the restaurant. Can't comment on the rooms as I wasn't staying over but the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant was excellent.
Been a few times to the Belmont and never disappointed. The staff are great and welcoming. The rooms are pleasant some with very small shower rooms, but adequate, supplied with shower gel and shampoo. The rooms we have stayed in all have a pleasant outlook. The beds are firm. The food is delicious and we really appreciate the separate bowls of vegetables. It's always been served quickly and hot. I was disappointed to find there is not a sitting area any more on the ground floor and only a small are downstairs and on the 1st floor landing, but saying that we will be back.
