The host was welcoming and offered good food recommendations. However, the room - number 9 was in need of some serious updates (carpet was threadbare and stained, the decor was like stepping into 2007 again). The shower was only half working. Breakfast was minimum standards. But it’s a great location and we had a good night sleep! (Bed was very comfy).

Of all the places we stayed during our West/Northwest loop of Ireland, this is among two that I really enjoyed - Carnside near the Causeway is the other. We only spent the night here, but the place was lovely and the staff was kind and welcoming. Our room overlooked the pasture, so it was absolutely lovely to leave the window cracked and hear the sheep nearby. We also ate at a wonderful Italian place nearby called Villa Vinci (make a reservation) which is definitely worth a visit.

I recently stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage at the Briers. Slightly disappointed that the cottage was not separate from the b&b, you've to access it via the b&b reception..also no secure garden area even though it's dog friendly. The hot tub is not in a private area either, staff were walking past multiple times while we were in it. Although the Cottage is a good size & staff were friendly, I wouldn't recommend it. Cleanliness not the best, gone off milk and other items left in fridge, black mould in bathroom, personal items belongings to previous guests under the bed & bedside locker. Garden furniture was filthy & covered in green algae/moss. Hot tub water full of flies & dirt.

Just returned from yet another stay at this wonderful place. So relaxing and friendly staff. Great continental breakfast selection and a great wee bar with a good selection of drinks and a very trusting way of paying. If you like walking it's the place to stay and also a short walk into newcastle. If you don't wish to walk a taxi is just a phone call away. We just love our stay there.

The Best hospitality in New Castle I would say. A homely atmosphere whith a personalised service that invites you to consider extending your stay, or coming back again soon.

Perfect location to stay in Newcastle with a great view of the Mourne mountains. Exceptionally comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would certainly recommend this B and B. and will return. Breakfast (an ulster fry) was the perfect way to start the day.

Just had a lovely relaxing two night stay in one of the deluxe rooms. The room and ensuite are spacious and finished to a high standard. Bed was extremely comfortable. Had a great choice of cereals, juice, yoghurt, fruit salad and toast as well as a lovely variety of cooked breakfasts available. Diane and Daryl are lovely helpful hosts. Will definitely stay again.

Thank you Diane and her husband for making our weekend great ! Room was spacious and bright. Beds were comfortable with a wet room shower fantastic. Breakfast was out of this world. They went the extra mile for us and helped us meet friends at the nearby camp site. Highly recommend this little taste of heaven at the bottom of the Mournes
