Proper fish and chips, my cousin recommended me to come here and I am glad I took the time to come down and visit. The onion rings were the best I've ever had. Battered haddock was perfectly crispy and very tasty. The drive down from Newcastle was beautiful on the coast road. I had a friendly welcome and a nice chat with some of the other customers.

Kids fish & chips £7.50 yesterday - struggling to find any fish among the batter. Very disappointing. A usual favourite place of ours to travel 1hr20mins to on a weekend however the past 2 visits have been disappointing and we will not return sadly after many years.

Starting from the service to the food, it was an exemplary experience. I picked this restaurant randomly and I was more than happy and it exceeded my expectations. The servers were very friendly even though we stayed a bit after they closed. Now as for the food, it was amazing!! Everything tastes very organic and fresh. The vegetables soup was great and the fish was very delicious. The bread as well. Everything together was amazing. The chef had us also try his new pizza and it was very very very good!! If you are in the area, try this places and you won't be disappointed.

Called in for lunch while visiting family. We had the sandwich soup combo which came with salad, coleslaw and crisps and the soup with wheaten bread. The vegetable soup was delicious, one of the best I've tasted. The wheaten bread was brilliant. The staff were very friendly and we liked the atmosphere. Very busy which is always a good sign. If the locals eat there you know it's going to be good. Will definitely be eating there again next time we're down.

More than impressed with The Galley. There’s a reason why the chippy is always so busy, the food is exquisite. We sat in for the first time, with a cost of £70 for 4&1 toddler, full belly’s all round and everyone extremely happy. It’s much bigger inside than it looks outside. Photos pictures were the pulled pork burger & the stacked sandwich!

Absolutely terrible the chips were mostly end bits. The fish batter was soggy. I would never go again. Years ago it was very good, but terrible now.

Fantastic food. If your passing you have to try their fish and chips. So good and great portions. We have also dined in and the food was excellent. There's a number of large picnic tables in a section of the carpark if you want to sit and enjoy your take away. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely cr@ P. The worst I have ever had. The fish... Well... Contained no fish. It was overdone, chewy, transparent and disgusting. The batter was overdone, too thick and horrible. The chips weren't much better. I emailed them with pics and have yet to have a reply, 2 weeks later. Don't waste your money. Eat at Docs or John Macs in Newcastle instead
