My wife and I had a takeaway on Sunday. Turkey and Ham Dinner and a Beef dinner both smothered in a pepper sauce. My wife had the beef and loved it. However, the sauce disguised the lack of Turkey and Ham on mine. Very filling all the same, but I still was disappointed.
Delightful surprise. We went here because we had a voucher (and also because they still had an a la carte menu , not just the Christmas menu). From the outside it reminded me of the pubs in the east end of Glasgow 20 years ago (and on the inside too; everyone huddled at the bar, topping-off their own half-settled Guinness if the owner was too busy). The owner came over to serve us and was very chatty and friendly and good with the kids. Then the food; Great. I'm a bit fussy because I eat out a lot when travelling around for work but the food here was just the ticket. Best chicken stack I've ever had (huge tobacco onions) and the helping for my wife's scampi was huge (also delicious) The kids ate all of theirs too. It was incredible to see not so many people here, they really are missing out. If you want good pub grub and friendly service then come here.
Requested a gluten free option. Was served veg soup which contained barley and a slice of regular bread. Main meal contained stuffing located beneath the meat. Had eaten most of the soup before I realised. Had to send back the main meal and this error was rectified. I suspect it was the lack of knowledge of the waitress. She didn't know what gluten free meant. She did not make me aware of both the soup and the additional stuffing. She took our order for drinks on arrival and more than ten minutes before this arrived as she was too busy updating a work colleague about her recent holiday and that she was away again in the near future! Food quality was OK. I suspect that no note of the gluten issue was relayed to the kitchen as the staff rather loudly asked her what was wrong with the food that was returned. Being gluten free is not a choice and more care should be taken.
Took my daughter there for her birthday and the food was lovely, we will be back.
This restaurant is a sinking ship. Food was canteen quality at best. Avoid the starters, they are over priced for what you get. No wonder the place is empty.
very disappointed asked for wine and a pint the wine was serve warm/straight from the store unchilled and such a small glass of wine it was an extra small glass when I asked the waitress she kindly took it back to a rather disgusted barmaid/ possible owner I was severed different wine in a dirty glass.food was nice but a bit dry a jug of gravy would be a good option. I won't be back .
Food was beautiful and staff very nice will definitely be back highly recommend
Called in on a Sunday for a bite of lunch and ended up having Sunday dinner. The food was good and the reason for the 4 stars is only because the food could have been warmer. Saying that my dessert of hot chocolate fudge cake was lovely. Would visit again,.
