   This is a beautiful old pub that serves excellent beers and the best pizza you will find anywhere around here (Pats Pizza). The bar staff are very much on the ball, welcoming, knowledgeable, kind and funny. I’ve now made this my local as a newbe to Lewes. The front bar is small and cosy AF but there is loads of space at the back bar and in the fire place room. They also have an upstairs and a great terrace at the back for times of good weather. This is a must spot if you are coming to Lewes.

   Best pint of Harvey's in town, head and shoulders better than others. Great warm atmosphere, tasty pizzas. Would be 5 stars but barmaid very rude to us, so unnecessary as we're decent, polite people.

   The salon part we went in was very small but their are other areas within. Its a good local friendly bar clean pipes as the beer was tasty. Its around the back of the high street up the top end of Lewes. Has its own pizza place next door which is connected to the pub as the staff were wearing the pizza T-shirts. Didn't eat there so cannot comment on the pizzas quality.

   One of the reasons that I love Lewes is this pub. A hidden gem. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular and Cask Marque pub. A few years ago we hiked over fron Eastbourne and my sore feet were soothed by a few pints here. ( oddly, there was a Morris Dancer festival going on, hard on feet and hard on ears!) Casta and Madge were enticed by the pizza menu (10£ - 15£). I however had a Gales brewery ( Fullers) 3.6% Seafarer. A super locals pub. No TV's.

   A nice town centre traditional pub. Had lunch here on a cold day and it was unfortunately a bit chilly inside. However the beer and food were good, as was the service. It was quiet on the day I visited but it is justifiably a popular pub with the locals.

   Such a lovely pub. The very definition of a cosy British pub. The food we had was excellent. They had plenty of vegan options. The portion sizes were some generous too! The staff were super helpful, even calling on the day of our reservation to say they were running low on certain dishes and giving us the option to reserve some. A must visit.

   Very dog unfriendly pub, really surprising as we had three dogs between a small group of friends and we checked if dogs are ok before we sat down. After a couple of yaps from the dogs we were asked to leave. This was a cold nearly empty pub, no music and no atmosphere. We will not be back!

   Really, really nice roast. Got moved at first as fully booked but given a table upstairs. Nice people in there. Pigs in blankets definitely my favourite.
