   How many Halfords employees does it take to change a lightbulb? 2 apparently; one grumpy old man to tell you not to park your car in a fitting bay (at the time you have booked) only to have to move it immediately back there after moving it elsewhere and then to tell you they can't change the headlamp bulb on your car even though you tell them you have seen it done before without taking the whole headlamp unit out and then the 18 year old who apparently knows nothing to do it in a matter of seconds. The 5 stars are for the young lad who was very polite with a great customer manner and an extra bonus 0 stars were awarded for the grumpy git (If he wasn't just having an off day please let the young lad give him a bit of training).

   Bought a car battery. Less than 18 months old. Told it isn't covered by halfords warranty as they only have a PARTIAL WARRANTY on batteries, was told that the battery is low on capacity after testing. This will be the third time in 2 yrs we have binned a halfords yuasa 5yr warranty battery on 3 different vehicles averaging 60 miles a day. Something not right about halfords stock and they're warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.

   Recently visited to replace a rear number plate that fell off whilst driving, lots of outdated red tape to attempt to get one printed. I think it would be easier to get through customs at a UK airport without a passport than it would be to get a rear number plate printed at Halfords. The car was outside with the front plate on, I had the broken rear plate with me, plus V5, plus partners driving licence and proof of address, after waiting for the manager without any updates (just stood in the shop for 10mins), he came and said he can’t do it, even though they (Halfords) printed the original plates with the same documents. Sometimes you just have to trust common sense to make a decision. Anyway got one printed online without any proof of anything, arrived next day.

   The guys working behind the checkout counter and the bike counter were great and knew their stuff, but Halfords really need more floor shop staff. There is no one about to ask any questions about products. I don’t think we should have to queue up behind people who are waiting at the checkouts just ask a question.

   Was having a bike carrier fitted. Have to say that the fitters Roy & Adrian were very good. Despite a few little frustrations more to do with Halfords general need for improvements, the staff were excellent and tick all the boxes when it comes to customer service excellence. My Wife reminded that Andy was also very attentive!

   Excellent customer service from a gentleman named Shaun! He was very, very knowledgeable and took his time to explain and show us everything we needed to know about child car seats. The end result was a very safe and happy granddaughter, and grandparents indeed. Thanks Shaun and have a happy new year!

   I needed advice on buying a dash cam for my car. The assistant was very patient and answered all my questions no matter how silly they were. He even made suggestions about things I hadn't even thought of. I came away very happy with a booking for fitting the whole thing when the unit arrived at the shop. Top marks all round. It is so nice to be able to talk things through with a human being rather than watching videos.

   I ordered a bike online which the site stated was in stock and ready to collect. It turns out that often this means it could just be that they have one item in stock which is generally the display model. So what their site tells you can't be trusted. The shop did call me to let me know which was fair enough. It did take the shine off my buying experience as the whole point of "click and collect" is to actually do that on the day not to have to wait for a delivery I would have got it sent direct otherwise.

   I visited the shop yesterday to look for wiper blades and was impressed by the standard of efficient helpful service. The items concerned were in stock and promptly found by a friendly assistant. Will certainly use again, thank you Halfords.
