The last experience I had here was the utter rudeness of one older generation female member of staff at the counter. She was at the very least very unhelpful, at the worst very, very rude. As a disabled customer she refused to help with the product and said the door at the rear of the store couldn’t be opened despite there being a camera and doorbell there and I’ve collected items this way previously. This would have been so much easier for me as a disabled customer if the store had opened the door for me to collect the item I had bought and paid for online. However, this particular worker, a customer SERVICE personnel, was incredibly rude to me inside the store after I had walked all the way around to ask if they could answer the doorbell and help me get the purchase this way. They should teach their staff that not all disabilities are visible. This is discrimination against disabled people. Her words were scathing inside the shop where other customers were present at the time, she even raised her voice at me as I left the store clearly struggling as I attempted to carry the items out on my own, I couldn’t get out of there quicker. It was embarrassing to be treated this way. I no longer go into the Ammanford store because of this. I hope it closes. I will travel to another Argos store where staff are better trained, nicer and less discriminatory to the disabled. This could have been avoided. Do better Argos. You exist FOR your customers not in spite of them.

I found the manager very unhelpful, "almost" rude, and prioritised his own opinion of the returns policy over that of the customer. He tried his hardest to avoid accepting the return I was making with him. FULL STORY: 2 days ago, I purchased a Flying Drone, which I was unhappy with the quality. I was under the impression that I am entitled to a no quibble return because I made my purchase online, and the receipt was emailed to me, therefore at the very least I have the Statutory Rights from the Distance Selling regulations to cover me. Shaun, the Ammanford manager was very keen to establish weather it was faulty, or if I just didn't like the quality. Either way I was unhappy, and only owned it for 2 days, full box, no missing parts, to me it's a no brainer. Full refund! But he spent way too much time asking me questions, such as: "did you do your research before buying it?" As though the onus is on me to establish weather the camera would be good or not before buying it. He then tried to tell me that I should have paid £1,000 for a decent one, and "you get what you pay for", and that I should have expected it to be poor quality, because the drone was £99!! My blood was boiling, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing!!! Customers should not be exposed to the Spanish inquisition. Yes, I get that you have to check that it's a fair return, but everything is there, box, instructions, undamaged product, everything just like new. So I was made to feel very uncomfortable, and had to argue with him that I'm entitled. I believe that this is against trading standards, as another customer may have been dissuaded from the return; and entitlement branded by the UK distance selling regulations. I even mentioned this "If this item is excluded from returns (such as with jewellery or underwear) then that should be explained at the point of sale". He argued: "It's your responsibility to look at the receipt for that exclusion". I said "What about people with disabilities or sight issues?" He said, "well they should have a carer looking after them". This guy was incredibly rude, and just wanted to be right about everything, with a complete disregard to brand damage from a negative interaction like this!! Not to mention the fact that if you're relying on a message printed on the receipt AFTER THE PURCHASE IS MADE, a receipt is produced. So you cannot introduce rules or exclusions after the purchase is made. There is so much wrong in this interaction, it was unbelievable. Trading standards need to audit this companies policies as a matter of urgency! To ensure consumers are not being mistreated and ripped off!! Not to mention he was incredibly rude in his behaviour towards myself and my partner, despite employing my de-escalation training from my industry. Extreamly argumentative, arrogant and condescending.

Shaun the Australian manager is a very good bloke. He accepted my parcel when others wouldn’t. He’s customer service is second to none, de-escalated what could have been a very awkward situation. This man needs a promotion or pay rise. Thank you Shaun.

Bought a Freeview prv box, changed my mind two days later and took it back unopened. Was grilled by the till person why I wanted to return it. Took my phone off me to see the receipt. She took and unopened box and opened it. Was shocked! She the proceeded to pull every bag and packet out of the box including the internal cardboard. Was huff and grunting during the process checking everthing. It was very clearly unopened until she got her hands on it. The cables were sealed as well as the batteries. This went on for about 5 to 10 minutes. Finally did the return. When a box is sealed why open it. At least be polite in the process.

Quick efficient service provided by polite friendly and knowledgeable staff. This small Argos is well situated in Ammanford shopping centre. It is close to pay and display car parks and is within walking distance of the towns bus Station. Access is suitable for disabled customers.
