   I started to go to see John Moore for servicing in 2010 after three friends recommended his place. He and Andy are spot on. They're friendly and explain the issues really well. Their prices are very reasonable, and they can be very busy. Lots of folk locally pass on the word that they're good guys. I now live out of Brighton, and when I'm back, I still take my cars to them.    Left the original review below in 2020 and have come back Jan 2024 for an MOT (fitting it in when I am visiting family as at least I will get a good service here) and again had a great experience. Nice and straight forward and honest and a relief when I've had so many horrible experiences. My radiator was leaking and I've heard and read about how expensive it can be to get a new radiator etc so was pleasantly surprised that he could fix the leaks as well as another issue and it was a very reasonable price I am so relieved, thanks! Thank goodness I brought my car for a second opinion to John Moore Auto repairs. Took my car to a well known chain car service (after googling and reading trust pilot reviews I assumed I could trust) in London. They gave me a long list of problems and quote of over £800 (not including service charge I had already paid) for a well looked after 11yo ford fiesta. Of the many red and amber alerts they gave me they included changing all my brakes and so John got everything ready to change and instead found my brakes were almost new and definitely didn’t need changing. He did however find I had a puncture in one tyre and another tyre with a valve leak (both of which had been missed by the well know car chain with apparently good reviews) despite my concern as I needed my car ready for quite a few long distance journeys). The overall cost totalled £250 not over £800! So relieved to find a garage I can trust (thanks to my brother in law) and will be bringing my car here for any future work despite the fact I live in London. Highly recommend.

   Used a number of times. Unfortunately there's been loss of trust due to the shop owner due to not being truthful about being able to fix an issue with the car, knowing this in advance and stating otherwise

   Not the worst but not that great... I've been to John a couple of times in the past and he did a good job. Then I had a service recently, and he failed to notice the reat windscreen wiper wasn't working, so it remained broken even after I'd paid for a service. When I pointed this out he got a bit moody and wasn't helpful when I tried to arrange a time to bring the car back in. I don't go to a mechanic to be treated like royalty, but I would like my car to be safe on the road.

   I have used John Moore Autos for over 15 years, John is always honest and reliable. HE is brilliant with cars like Volvo, BMW, Mercedes and Citroen . I have to travel over 30 miles to use him but its well worth it. Having used a local national chain in an emergency, I discovered they had not even fixed the actual main fault after I took the car to John seeking a second opinion. His garage is incredibly busy because of his no nonsense fair pricing.
