Chicken platter was lush, lots of food. Friendly bar staff. When there was an issue with food Caitlin was super helpful, polite and was amazing at sorting the issue. What a lovely person Caitlin is! A credit to the pump house. Big up Caitlin and the bar staff member that helped us at the bar.

Fabulous venue, Fabulous staff, Fabulous food. Only marked it 4 stars as I had to wait 45 mins for main course which meant I didn't have time to order dessert as I was seeing a show

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pump House, a Marston’s pub, and I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable pub experiences I’ve had in quite some time. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted warmly by Gib, who looked after our table throughout the evening. His professionalism, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm really set the tone for a relaxed and welcoming visit. The pub itself has a fantastic atmosphere—spacious, clean, and inviting, with just the right mix of traditional charm and modern touches. It’s clearly well looked after, and the staff take pride in maintaining a comfortable environment for guests. Whether you’re popping in for a casual drink or settling down for a meal, The Pump House manages to strike that perfect balance between being lively and laid-back. The food was excellent, with hearty pub classics served hot, fresh, and full of flavour. The menu had plenty of choice, and everything we tried was generously portioned and good value for money. Drinks, too, were well kept—my pint was perfectly pulled, and the selection behind the bar had something for everyone. What really elevated the evening, though, was the service from Gib. Attentive without being intrusive, he made sure we had everything we needed and added a personal touch with friendly conversation and genuine care. It’s rare these days to come across someone who clearly takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile to make guests feel welcome, but Gib absolutely did just that. Overall, The Pump House is a fantastic pub, made even better by the outstanding service. I’ll certainly be returning soon and recommending it to friends and family.

I didn't have food here as there was a 40-minute wait as usual .So, I just had a few drinks. There was quite a que for drinks 15 minutes wait but it was worth it for the great views and atmosphere.

Pre booked a table for Father’s Day, took a while to get my partner and all children out the door and down to the pump house for a Sunday lunch for Father’s Day, on arriving it was ridiculously busy and although I’d booked online a few days prior I was still told that a big party of 13 have just arrived and due to that our food would be a 40 minute wait which wasn’t mentioned whilst booking which would of been great to know when having to bring 4 hungry children out for a meal. When food did eventually arrive we had no cutlery food was freezing cold on arrival and the Yorkshire puddings just looked wet and soggy. Absolutely disgusting meal, kids would hardly touch the food absolutely vile and inedible, veg was partially cooked the beef was a choking hazard to my children as it was so tough. Also we were placed next to a big party of screaming crying children being really badly misbehaved and running under our table, the parents nor staff did nothing about this, 100000% would not recommend, do not go to this place

Ordered steak medium rare and it came back well done. took it back amd within two minutes another overcooked streak burnt steak appeared. Unless you like burnt well cooked steak, avoid. Although they overcook the food, it is a great location, dogs welcome, kids menu is great and with friendly staff

Really nice, sat by the water and enjoyed the early spring weather with a drink and good food! The fish and chips were excellent, fresh & crunchy batter, lovely chips, my hubby had the burger with mozzarella sticks. Prices are also decent :)

Friendly helpful staff in a busy open house that welcomes dogs. 13/11/21 - Booked a table in advance. Ordered drinks at the bar then had the option to order via the scan code on the table or a the bar remembering your table number. Pay cash or card as you order. Collect condiments (sachets) & cutlery from near the bar. Food was nice.

Really nice pub in a converted victorian pump house, as the name suggests! Good sized outdoor terrace too but it was a bit cold when we were there. Big portions of classic pub food, done well and nicely presented, at very reasonable prices. The kids meal was also great value. The service was good - our waitress was very friendly and the drinks and food arrived quickly.
