Great experience as always, wonderful service. Evie does a fantastic job with highlights and cut and makes my hair feel amazing and healthy again. The staff is very attentive and offers drinks frequently. At other salons, I've always felt like I was double booked, where the stylist would go off and do another person's hair whilst I waited in my foils for what felt like too long. But here, each stylist focuses on just their customer during the appointment, which makes you feel cared for and prioritized. I totally recommend.

Ben gives great hair! What I love about Gingko is they’re brilliant technically but completely ego free. I want someone to give me a haircut that suits me and works for my lifestyle, not submit my scalp to the scissors of a stylist who’s more concerned with how they look than how I do. I have been called by Ben from the salon today, who asked me about my experience in Ginko. I explained what happened and he apologised for it and highlighted he wasn’t aware about my complaint before, otherwise he would have addressed it earlier. He offered (and provided) a full refund for the inconvenience. I add two stars to this review because of that.
I have been in this salon as I wanted to get my regrowth done. As I needed to do the patch test in advance, I thought to treat myself with a blowdry. Linda, the ‘senior practitioner’, was polite and chatty, asking me where I was from, what was my job, how long I would have staid in Kemptown. Everything felt good at the beginning.
She asked me how I wanted my hair done, I answered natural waves.
As you can see in the pictures (these are soon after I left the salone, I sent them to a friend to share my disappointment) they are almost straight, very frizzy at the roots and dry at the extremities. Anyway, at the time to pay, Linda told me it was 55£ for the blowdry (the only service I got in that occasion), but she wanted to treat me making me pay 48£. I was shocked, I told her on the website was 28£ for a blow dry. She replied it is ‘starting from 28£’ but as she is a senior and more experienced practitioner she charges more. I am not local, however I checked other website and asked some locals, they said it was definitely too much for a blow dry. Of course I cancelled for the regrowth. I know it didn’t I impacted Linda as I had my appointment with another practitioner for it.
