This barber is the only guy I’ve found who can cut curly men’s hair properly. They’re also super friendly in here and always have great tunes on. Discovered them a few years ago and have t gone anywhere else since, can’t recommend enough.

The service and attitude we received today for our toddler’s haircut (his first one!) was absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. My partner was close to tears and the barber couldn’t care less. We are unsure whether it’s even fixable and all with a family wedding next week. All this having had this place recommended by a close friend and with a good rating on Google/Facebook (albeit with few recent reviews which should have been a sign). The haircut itself can only be described as a three minute hack with scissors. The fringe is now jagged with hair over one eye, the back has chunks missing and the sides done in a derisory way with some hair still over one ear. It was like the guy had never cut hair before, let alone for a 22 month old. The barber’s attitude was astonishingly bad. He didn’t address our son by his name, attempt to reassure or really talk to him at all and certainly didn’t give a damn that as parents, we were excited to see our son’s first haircut. A block on top of an adult’s chair was supposed to suffice and nothing at all to entertain a child (we had our own things of course but it set alarm bells ringing when we were getting him set up). When we raised our concerns with the end result, he was passive aggressive and said if we ‘wanted it shorter then that’s all he could do’. He didn’t even seem concerned when we refused to pay (£18), he just shrugged and retreated behind his desk with his arms crossed. Strong impression he didn’t want to be there and aero people skills. Maybe the guy was having a bad day but it’s completely ruined one of the ‘firsts’ we were looking forward to and experiencing as parents and we are not getting that back. Unfortunately there isn’t the option to share photos on Google reviews but if the owner sees this, I’m happy to provide directly.

A welcoming barbershop with an amazing husband and wife team! Brought my toddler here who was very distraught at the thought of getting her hair cut. They were so patient with her and pulled out all the stops to make her feel at ease. She left with a big smile on her face! Highly recommend.

Great place! I've got long hair and a long beard and Chris took care of both expertly. Excellent location and a great vibe - not at all pretentious, just really friendly with cool tunes and a great cut. It was my first trip to a barbers for a LONG time but I got exactly what I wanted and will definitely be coming back. Well recommended.

I love Captain Seadogs, had a really fantastic cut there on Sunday and will definitely be returning as the experience was so positive, very competitively priced and Steph is lovely. My daughter also had a haircut here and was made to feel super special, she said after Steph "is the best hairdresser in Brighton!" High praise indeed :)

Best men's hairdresser in Brighton by far - and I've tried quite a few. Cool ambience, great tunes, and Chris is a really nice guy. Always takes his time with the cut and does a great job. A great cut for a good price. Highly recommended.
