   Sunday lunch was excellent. Plenty of freshly cooked food with vegetables served in separate bowls on the middle of the table. Hot plates (one of my pet hates is getting food served on cold plates, which some restaurants seem to do). Good service.

   Absolutely amazing place! Exquisite food. Lovely friendly atmosphere and very efficient service. I highly recommend the steak as well as the partridge. The whipped cod roe was delicious and paired so well with the beetroot and burrata. You think you've had sticky toffee pudding? Just wait until you've tried this one! The portions are a very generous size. it's definitely worth booking!!

   We absolutely loved our stay at the Sun. Everything from the first moment was perfect. You can clearly see the passion and attention to detail from the food (delicious, warm and truly local) to the lovely rooms. Pete and his wife are welcoming and friendly and all the staff both at bar and at the restaurant was professional and lovely. Big thank you for this amazing, highly recommended, experience.

   We absolutely loved this quirky place. The room was fantastic; very spacious, very luxurious and definitely great value for money. The staff were fantastic too. We were shown to our room by a lady called Beth who was really welcoming. Once we had settled, we went down into the bar and were greeted by Beth again, who had a bit of a laugh with us. We had food from the hatch, which was really nice. We initially sat in the beer garden and one of the locals said a quick hi and told us a little bit about the village while my misses was stroking his two dogs then he went on his way. The following morning we had one of the best cooked breakfasts we have ever had, this was served to us and we think cooked by a guy called Pete. We came to this conclusion from looking at the website. Anyway if this was Pete he gave us the same warm welcome as Beth and also had a laugh with us. They are obviously skilled at what they do as they read the room very well. We will definitely be returning to visit and are actually looking to meet up with some family there next year. In conclusion; clean, tidy, modern but still feels authentic. Lovely atmosphere great staff and lovely food.

   Enjoyed an absolutely knock out meal for one on Thursday night. Delicious octopus starter - and the rotisserie chicken for main - life affirming food!!! I absolutely had no room for dessert but scoffed the lot. Cannot wait to return. X

   Lovely Sunday roast for 10.people. Excellent value, potatoes lovely,.very nice veg. All cooked to perfection and served together with nobody left waiting for theirs. Lovely rustic dining hall with wood burner and hops hanging from the oak beams. I will definitely be going back.

   This was our first return visit since the recent renovation work and what a beautiful job they’ve done! All of the historic detail remains but subtle improvements have made the pub more accessible and better laid out. We ate in the bar and the atmosphere was wonderfully warm and friendly. The landlord seems to care deeply that his guests feel welcome. Our meal was delicious!! We had the special, Skate and it was cooked to perfection. Prices are very fair too. I can’t wait to go back!

   Nice village pub, quality of food was very nice. No bookings taken on Sundays but when we arrived and there were spaces in the restaurant we were told to eat in the bar or garden on fathers day.
