Both food and service were very good. We went for a Christmas meal, but it was good to see that there was still a wide variety on the menu. It was very busy lunchtime, with a big party, but we were in the smaller restaurant, which suited us as one of our party has hearing difficulties. The service as always was great. The staff are so cheerful and helpful. The vanilla panacotta with pears was particularly good.

Saw the generally good reviews for the Fox and thought we would give it a go for an early dinner. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The rear bar area was cosy and warm, with a log burner making it very welcoming. However, we were shown to a table in the dining area which was cold, fire was not lit and radiators cold. Not very comfortable as we had to keep our coats on. My β€œFox” burger was good but the accompanying loaded fries (extra) were lukewarm, grated cheese would not melt. Partner’s belly pork was alright, black pudding bonbon was very good. Somewhat surprised to find the string used to bind the pork was in the gravy. The small issues spoilt what could have been a pleasant meal. Hope these can be addressed so others can enjoy a better experience.

Superb meal for 4 people. All our needs catered for thank you. Highly recommend eating here. I was too busy tucking in for a photo of my #vegan cous cous tagine! One of our party was dairy free and gluten free! And hes been back 6 times!

Excellence all round! Delicious food, fantastic service and great atmosphere. A varied menu to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, all staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food...Wow! I had the lasagne and I have to say it was probably the best I've ever had (don't tell my mum!!) it was delicious, plenty of meat, I find some places bulk it out with lots of tomato/veg, and the garlic bread was banging. We all had a variety of meals and everyone said how delicious it all was. The portion sizes are good and creates excellent value for money. Good choice of deserts, all about Β£8/8.50 which some would consider more on the pricey side but when it comes to the quality and time/effort that goes into them, they are worth it. Service was good, and food served in a timely manner considering it was a very busy evening! All in all a lovely dining experience. We look forward to retuning.

Fabulous food! Great service and friendly helpful staff. Car parking can be a little tricky outfront but found the rear car park, no problem. Good size portions and apple crumble desert was yummy! Gluten free and veggie options also. Only downer was no milk alternative (oat/soya/almond)

Lovely atmosphere, good food, big portions! The food is really lovely, with some unique dishes as well as the go-to comfort dishes of any good pub. The owner is very friendly and happy to help. All around a lovely place.

Nice little place, good seats inside and outside, if you’re ordering a roast, they do put a massive amount of gravy on the food, just a heads up. Nice people and dog friendly as well. Reasonable prices.

In the area for a couple of days. Ate there on the tuesday, 4 of us were the only ones in the large pub apart from a couple in another bar. Food was fine so we said we would be back the following day. We arrived to a busy full pub. Very strange, like two completely different pubs.
