Jason from Sussex Woodcraft & Design was a wonderful find. I found him on a google search and took a leap of faith. The website had great examples of previous work, he worked near where I live and he returned my call - great start. From the beginning I was happy with Jason’s approach and suggestions. I was invited to visit his workshop for a look around (which I did), where I was able to see some work in progress for myself. Three months ago, we hired Sussex Woodcraft and Design to create and install a bespoke wardrobe in our master bedroom. The wardrobe is FANTASTIC. It is truly bespoke and perfect for the size of our clothes and other items we store. It is BEAUTIFUL. We've had so many compliments and each morning I wake up and my bedroom is as stunning as the ones in the photos on Pinterest or in Ideal Home magazine. The best part was that we worked with Jay throughout the whole process. Knowing that when we were discussing the design and measurements that the same person would be there during the installation gave us high confidence that things would be just right (and they were). The customer service was so outstanding -- and much better than we would have had anywhere else. We had had other quotes for the work and the quote from Sussex Woodcraft and Design was competitive. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Jason of Sussex Woodcraft & Design, constructed and installed a large (4.2 metres long), low media unit with double drawer layer under and ceiling height bookcases on either side. The bookcases and solid "sleeve" framing the base were all finished in real oak, with self-closing drawers spray painted in a neutral white with stainless steel bar handles. We visited Jason's production facility, which he followed up with a site visit to measure the intended location, discuss our exact requirements and finalise the outline design we had made. The finished result is perfect and as you would expect if you had chosen one of the large bespoke furniture manufacturers we had been considering to make and install the same unit, but at a considerable cost saving. The oak veneer finish is professional standard and was available in a choice of finishes and degree of sheen. The finish of the painted drawer fronts is also perfect, as is their alignment within the unit. We are delighted with the result and how the unit was "scribed" to fit perfectly without gaps against our uneven walls. The timescale from start to finish was quite short with installation taking place on the date agreed at the outset. Jason was easy and very responsive to work with during the design and design choices. We could not have wished for better. .
Twice we have employed Jay Murray of Sussex Woodcraft and Design. Firstly to build book shelves over cupboards and a work station. Secondly a 4 door wardrobe with a lot of shelves and hanging areas. I provided a detailed spec and Jay converted that into working drawings. Jay was very helpful in agreeing final details that were practical and met my specs. Jay was able to offer a range of wood veneers and finishes. The quality of production was excellent and on time to suit us. The cost was very good value. We approached Jay to design and make a custom larder cupboard to fit into a narrower space than the standard cupboards would fit. He used his experience to guide us around the proportions and finish. I can not recommend Sussex Woodcraft and Design enough, the service we received has been nothing short of outstanding from start to finish. Jay was able to take initial ideas and offer both his own advice and guidance from years of experience and apply them together culminating in creating a stunning, bespoke and personal kitchen. Jay is a master craftsman and his attention to detail is astonishing, it was a wonderful experience and we would work with him again tomorrow.
