Updating from 2 → 3 stars. The setting is considerably better than it was when the gym first opened. The routes now have a much wider variety of movement, and I genuinely had a lot of fun climbing here compared to a couple of years ago. That said, there are still issues with some frustrating setting decisions. Today there was a strong group of climbers sending V6–V8 around the gym, yet nobody could even hold the finishing hold on a V3. There were also several concerning falls from near the top of boulders, sketchy final moves, slippery feet, and awkward body positions. The facility itself is excellent, with friendly staff and good coffee. However, at £15 per session it’s just too expensive. Regardless of construction costs, Swansea shouldn’t be the place where I’ve paid the most I ever have for a single climbing session. It now costs more than any gym in Oslo or Gothenburg. I’m glad I came back to give the place another chance but I’ll probably stick with the hangar for my next few visits to Swansea.

My boyfriend and I recently started a membership here and it has been such a positive experience so far. Such a relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect place to go after work or a stressful day. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. We are beginners and feel very welcomed by the staff and other climbers. Also the coffee and donuts are very nice. Definitely recommend!!

Nice modern boulder facility in Swansea centre. The beast and tension board 2 are both great unique aspects to this gym and its nice to see they take on community feedback with their renovations recently and added more slabs. The setting can feel very clinical at times but there is normally something for everyone to enjoy each reset. They've opted for the impossible job of giving climbs individual grades rather than grade ranges which inevitably wont please everyone but its a nice change from most commercial gyms. Staff are normally very friendly and its nice to have a small shop of useful items. It is pretty pricey at 13£ concession entry and they are a bit stingy with membership free kit hire (e.g. doesn't include chalk and they wont let you borrow kit under your membership if you're lending it to a mate who's paying one-off entry) but it is on the whole a solid climbing gym.

My son had his Birthday at Flashpoint Swansea. As an autistic and disabled mum I sometimes struggle with days out with my child but I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the staff for their kindness and patience and making us feel so welcome! If you're looking for a fab day out, I highly reccomend taking your littles there x or even biggies! The climbing systems can handle up to 150kgs! A big thanks to the guys for posing for a photo with Finn And Dewi and to all the staff for being such kind people! #autismacceptance #disability #senmum #finnanddewi

First time at Flashpoint Swansea and it blew my expectations away! Booking and getting ready was a breeze - online waiver and safety video beforehand made things super quick. The staff were awesome too, super friendly and even gave me a quick tour to help me get my bearings. Seriously impressed with the size and facilities! Been bouldering for 6 months now, and I loved starting on the wide selection of easier routes and working my way up. So much space to rest between climbs on the comfy sofas and chairs too. The absolute highlight though? The Beast! Unlike anything I've ever tackled before, it was incredible. Big thumbs up for the Griptonite system/app integration as well. Tracked my whole session perfectly and will help me plan my attack for next time. Didn't grab any food or drinks this time, but those pizzas looked unreal! Definitely on the menu for my next visit.

I enjoyed my visit, I prefer rope climbing to bouldering so I'm always a bit nervous of bouldering gyms. This is one of the nicest with plenty of routes to try on many different walls and at many different levels. Its the most expensive bouldering place I've been to but by far the biggest. Staff were friendly, cafe area was ok; heaters made all the difference, whilst sitting in the cafe.

I had never been climbing before and this place is amazing. There is a whole range of options for both myself as a newbie and the advanced climbers in our group. There is also a really cool separate area for kids. The coffee and cake were delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it to everyone and I can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely loved our session at Crazy Climb. My 6 year old loved it. The instructor was great with all the kids, he encouraged each child to go that little bit further each time. We will be back again, next time I'll leave the little ones at home because even 40 year old children enjoyed the fun.

Cracking bouldering spot. Routes for all ages and grades. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Has a nice cafe and fun climb zone for the kiddies

A really well designed bouldering centre. Has everything you would want and more! There is even a designated place to wash and dry your feet! Staff were all welcoming and friendly, will definitely be looking to visit again even though I’m not local!
