The spa facilities were okay, just a bit busy given it is a "health club", but the room was awful. First the shower had little to no pressure and doesn't stay up properly, the sink got no hot water whatsoever, and no plug near a mirror (my partner had to go down to the gym changing rooms to do hair and make-up), the basics things you expect from a hotel room. Can hear everything from the room next door even when talking at a reasonable level, so kept up late by them watching TV late. Music from downstairs started playing unreasonably loud at 5:50AM, went down to complain the first night and music was turned down to a reasonable level. Later we were told it shouldn't have been on at that time and offered a free lunch as an apology, but the same thing happened the next morning. When checking out and asked how our stay was, after noting the issues the member of staff was completely unapologetic and disinterested. Completely not worth the £185 a night price tag. The Lady who cleans the rooms was lovely. Considering we were looking at a local housing development as we are moving to the area, we stayed here as we were thinking of joing the club, but this experience has completely put us off.

I was made to feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived, and the whole process was handled with warmth, clarity and care. Ellie Hughes from the New Membership team was friendly, approachable and incredibly helpful throughout, taking the time to explain everything and making the experience feel easy and positive from start to finish. I couldn’t have been happier with how smoothly it all went, and it was a lovely introduction to David Lloyd Wickwoods.

★★★★★ Exceptional Service and Facilities! My recent tour of David Lloyd Wickwoods was outstanding, and I have Gracie to thank for it. She is an absolute credit to the team—not only was she incredibly professional and knowledgeable about every aspect of the club, but her warmth and welcoming attitude instantly made me feel at home.Gracie provided a thorough overview of everything: the beautiful clubhouse, the cutting-edge gym, the tennis and leisure facilities, and the diverse range of classes and instructors. Her passion for the club and its community was infectious. The quality of the facilities speaks for itself, but it was the exceptional service that sealed the deal. I left in no doubt that applying for a membership here is absolutely the right decision. Highly recommended!

A Life-Changing Membership I joined David Lloyd Wickwoods in 2024 with one goal: to reclaim my mental health and fitness after the devastating loss of my brother. In the aftermath, I stopped cycling and exercising, my diet deteriorated, and my mood spiralled. I felt disconnected from myself and the world around me. Wickwoods has been nothing short of transformative. The environment is welcoming, uplifting, and genuinely restorative. Through fitness, I’ve rediscovered joy. Through friendships, I’ve rebuilt connections. I feel more alive than I have in years. Special thanks to Lisa Sampson and Tom Pask for their incredible cyclone and circuit training sessions, their energy is contagious and encouragement relentless. I keep a close eye on the cyclone leader board, a small but powerful symbol of progress. And thanks to Bronte McDonald - Harper, whose fantastic (and challenging) Pilates classes have helped me achieve something I never thought possible: I can now touch my toes! This place isn’t just a gym, it’s a sanctuary. On Mental Health Day, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Wickwoods team for helping me find strength, purpose, and a renewed sense of self.

I joined Wickwoods in May 2024 and at the time, I had just been diagnosed as diabetic and really struggled to 'enjoy' any kind of gym I had ever joined before, very quickly cancelling my membership as I found it boring. Something had to change and I won't lie, when I initially signed up to Wickwoods it was not easy given the price but what I can honestly say is that in hindsight, it was one of the best decisions I ever made and it is worth every penny. I find the variety of classes, gym and racquet sports help keep me engaged and 18 months on I'm going 5/6 times a week and loving it, it's a great place to be for my mental health and I've reversed that diabetes also. The staff are so pleasant and I've made some great new friends also. If you are thinking about joining, I wouldn't waste any time in doing so, you won't regret it.

Service needed to be improved a lot . Main course came when we were still eating starters . No offers to refill glasses . Meal was rushed . After we had finished main meal before plates had been removed we were offered the sweet menue when we said can we wait a bit the waitress was clearly not happy and presented us with the sweet menue anyway. Had to grab attention of waitress to get wine glass refilled which was not easy . Staff very miserable apart from the young man who gave us our bill . He was extremely polite . Said bar was still open if we wanted to have a drink in bar after meal and again met with rather rude staff . Very surprised at this as when I have had coffee / lunch never this problem. On the plus side the food was lovely. Sorry wickwards .

I have been lucky to visit Wickwoods a few times. Normally I enjoy a yearly spa day with my mum but I was there last weekend as a guest at a friend's wedding. It was set out beautifully, food was delicious, service fantastic and staff a pleasure.

This was a fantastic experience. My wide had spa treatment which she said was really nice, relaxing and worth the money. Then we had a 3 course meal which could not be faulted. Fantastic tasting and good value for money. All the staff were cheerful, polite and attentive without over doing it. Overall superb. Will definitely return. Ambience great and cleanliness obvious. Thanks to all.

We had a spa day experience here and were blown away by the amazing facilities the club has to offer, with the heated outdoor hydro pool being our absolute favourite. You can't beat sitting in a warm jacuzzi- style pool, gazing at the beautiful blue sky framed by the tall, green trees above you. We were lucky to enjoy our spa day on a sunny day as we could sit on the sun loungers next to the outdoor pool (members only). The experience also included a two course lunch with a drink in the club restaurant. The food was delicious and I'd be happy to go back time and time again (available to non-members too), whereas the staff were really attentive and polite. Our massages were good (1 hour Temple Spa massage), although I felt I needed something more invigorating (just like what Body Base in Portland Road, Hove offers). There's a free car park and the club is only a 15 min drive away from Hove. Will I recommend it? Yes, as it's pretty much the only spa available near Brighton.
