   I love my new Barker Tyne Chukka boots in black! I anxiously waited about 6 months for my size to be restocked and then ordered two pairs (size 8.5 and size 9) with the intention of keeping the best fitting boot and returning the other. This seemed like a brilliant plan until it came time to pay the return-delivery charge (CDN$175.00) to get them from Vancouver back to Northampton. Barker Shoes - for my next purchase, is there a better (cheaper) way?

   On November 4, I returned the shoes I had already paid for, €385, via POSTNL with track & trace, to Barker shoes VK. After several emails they now say that the shoes have not arrived. In the Netherlands, POSTNL, one cannot conduct research abroad, Barker Shoes knows all too well. Now they refuse all cooperation and refund. Very poor service, so don't buy shoes from Barker Shoes if you live outside the UK. Ben Aa, Epe Netherlands

I want to particularly single out Dawn in the Factory showroom for the kind & thoughtful way she handled my requirements for an upcoming wedding. Nothing was too much trouble with great advice & attention to my preferences; delighted with my purchase. Bravo Barkers - 1st rate service & my personal thanks to Dawn & the team for a fantastic customer service experience.

   The factory shop sells shoes with minor imperfections at largely reduced prices. They are hand made and of the most amazing quality and design. Also avalable in a range of width fittings as well as sizes. The staff are warm friendly and knowledgeable. But remember they are still going to set you back between £150 & 200. But worth it. I bought these, Amazing. Wife won't let me out on my own again! Thought about the yellow ones but they clash with my eyes!

   The best quality shoes. Great prices for "slight seconds". Fed up of £50-£100 shoes from High Street retailers falling apart after months and needing a decent set for an event, I thought I would see what all the fuss was about with a quality hand made pair. I'd heard that a few bargains could be had down at the factory outlet in Earls Barton, so I gave it a try. Super helpful staff. No rush. No big queues. Great choice! My first set of Barkers had a very slight mark on the leather and discounted heavily due to that. I wouldn't have noticed the mark had it not been pointed out by a bright circle sticker. As with all proper leather shoes it takes a while to bed them in. After a few wears they now feel like soft comfy slippers and I get compliments whenever I wear them. I've since been back 3 times and now have a set of high quality and great looking shoes for all occasions. I can tell they will last years. Well worth a trip. You won't be disappointed.

   Went with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a great selection of shoes set out in sizes and widths. There was a section for slight imperfections and another for discontinued stock. The staff were fantastic, especially a young lady who couldn't do enough to help, she went out to the stock room to check for other styles and sizes. Have to say this same young lady opened a packet of biscuits for my 2 year old daughter who was becoming a little restless. Bought a pair of shoes and will certainly be returning to buy more. Great value. Thank you.
