For any new students/residents in Swansea: DO NOT REGISTER WITH GP HERE. Receptionists have the most awful attitude I have ever seen, they will tell you off for calling in, which is ridiculous. The doctors are dismissive, relate everything to anxiety and will not help you. I have had to go private in order to be diagnosed. Some have very rude manners too! I cannot complain about the nurses, they are some of the loveliest workers I’ve met, they deserve a lot of credit :)

The only convenient GP center for Swansea Uni students. Good services from resident GP’s and resident nurse. Customer service at front desk/receptionists is abysmal. The NHS is not known for speed but here, they lean into being slow. GP appointments generally take 4-5working day, Nurse appointments are “next week”

If you're going in for mental health: don't. I tried going in multiple times and I was told by two different doctors to go "smell the flowers" and exercise more. If they give you medication they just shoot up anything without considering your particular situation. I have a condition since I was a child but since I had recently moved I needed to get a new diagnosis. The doctors basically refused. It was super hard to get an appointment and the receptionists are unnecessarily rude. Every time I went I left feeling so much worse that I stopped going to the doctor and taking care of myself. I am lucky enough that I have found appropriate care now and I can look back and fully understand just how badly I was treated. But things could have ended very differently for me.

The clinical staff are competent, but patients have no access to online services like the NHS app, and something as simple as renewing a prescription can't be done on the same day. As this practice doesn't use the NHS Wales app, I can't do it myself either. Add to this the daily scramble for appointments and you have a GP practice that is more frustrating than helpful. Swansea Students should register elsewhere.

This has been my GP surgery for 6 years now. I've rarely had negative interactions there and the staff are really lovely and helpful.

Impossible to get an appointment. My experience with the doctors are fine but it is near impossible to secure an appointment and receptionist is not the friendliest/most helpful.

Absolutely abysmal. Went there to get help for mental health and as soon as I sat down and told the doctor why I was here, they immediately looked like they didn’t want to be here. Asked me to tell them my symptoms and I said I wrote it down, and they made me read it out loud. Was incredibly embarassing. The doctor made the whole atmosphere feel so awkward. After that, my appointment was already done. I had to ASK what happens next and I was told I “could” get a call. I asked from who and when, and I was told it could be a “few months depending on the urgency” ( urgency? doctor was aware of s harm). Left not knowing who would contact me or when, for all I know I’ve probably missed the call if I had it. The whole experience was embarrassing and honestly made my mental health worse. If you’re coming here for help, simply don’t. You’re better off registering somewhere else as it’s clear no one here knows how to respond to people in a mental health crisis! Waste of time and made me feel worse.

absolute nightmare. All i need is my medication that i’ve now had to get on emergency outside campus twice because I can’t get an appointment even though i’ve come in 5 times now.

The care I've recieved is fine, the challenge is getting in! Securing an appointment is like winning a radio sweepstakes...

Great GP in my opinion. I've received great care from Dr Heatley over the years and she has always been an advocate for my health. Nurses are fab -- Sister Kate was very reassuring and helpful during my smear which I appreciated. I always manage to get an appointment when needed, though it is obviously busier during term times.
