Avoid This Practice at All Costs – Utterly Incompetent and Frustrating This has to be one of the worst doctors' surgeries I've ever dealt with. There’s only ever ONE doctor on, and they’re consistently running late—we're talking delays of 30 minutes to over an hour as standard. It's as if they think your time means nothing. Appointments? Good luck. You’re told to ring back weeks later at exactly 8am, where you’ll inevitably face a jammed phone line, a pointless queue system, and a receptionist who tells you—surprise!—there are no appointments left. It’s a vicious cycle of inefficiency and poor management that leaves patients stranded without care. When you do finally get in to see someone (after jumping through hoops), you're met with junior-level doctors who seem completely naive and out of their depth. There’s a clear lack of experience and confidence—it doesn’t inspire trust when you feel like you're being diagnosed by someone who still needs supervision. This place is a complete shambles. Understaffed, overbooked, and run with zero urgency or regard for patient wellbeing. Avoid if you can. They are failing their community.

I was taken to the Beacon after a referral by a Dr. It was clear that the Dr hadn't read the notes, because of other complications. The physio, at least took her time, asked questions and listened to the answer. She referred me to the right department's. It's been eighteen months of pain, but at least we're getting somewhere.

I would like to thank Nichola and Emma from the physio team for providing me with support through Hydro sessions and exercise ready for my Hip replacement. Both very professional, very welcoming and supportive of each individuals needs in the groups. Thank you again. Cheryl

Well I must say, I got further than being on the other end of the phone, I actually made it to the waiting room today! Alas, that is as far as I got. Appointment was made, in the morning with Dr Jones for 12.15pm. I arrived at 12.05 only to be still waiting to go in at 13.05pm. Whilst waiting I was the only person in the waiting area for 15 minutes, even asking the receptionist if they had forgotten about me. For half an hour I waited with nobody going in or out of the doctors door apart from student doctors. Eventually I asked the receptionist to cancel the appointment as I needed to be else where. I received a text from Dr Jones about 20 minutes after leaving apologising and asking me to take photos of my psoriasis, send them over and she would ring later to discuss the matter. It is now 7.10pm no call received still suffering with my condition. You can make your own mind up if you think this is neglect/negligence for a patient wellbeing. The surgery needs a complete overhaul. Why can't they go back to the way it was before covid, making appointments without triage

Impossible to get through at all. Have had to come off my medication as I had no way to order repeat prescription. Horrific. Don't know whether to go private or try another surgery.

My first appointment yesterday since joining the practice. Saw a doctor within 5 minutes of a call back. Very thorough with follow ups booked. Wish I could score higher than 5 stars. Well done Dr Tomlinson and team.

My wife had a 1st appointment at the Wound Clinic, for my wife's dressings to be changed. We cannot praise the two nurses enough, for their caring, friendly, gentle and professional services. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you very much ladies. We look forward to future appointments.
