We both had a flu jab booked for today and apparently someone called me yesterday to cancel .No message was left and nobody called today .I arrived at the store to be told it had been cancelled. Totally unacceptable and shocking service ,not what you'd expect from a brand like Boots.

It’s amazing that in 2025 this place still closes for lunch. The branch has loads of employees but they spend most of the day around the back smoking. Boots HQ, please fix this branch or put it out of its misery.

I recently transferred my prescriptions to Boots in Portslade after moving from Hove. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. My first prescription was due for collection at the end of June. When I went to pick it up a week later, I was told it was not ready, and staff could not explain what had happened. I was asked to leave my details, including my phone number, so that I could be contacted once it was ready. After waiting another week or two, I returned, only to be told that there was a stock issue and that I should ask my GP to redirect the prescription to another pharmacy. My GP then requested that Boots release the prescription back to the central server so it could be collected elsewhere. When I returned to Boots with this request (and showed them the GP’s message), I was treated unprofessionally by two members of staff. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told—quite rudely—that I should simply buy the medication because it was inexpensive. These tablets are vital to my health as they help prevent cancer from returning, and this dismissive response was both inappropriate and unacceptable. After a long and frustrating conversation, I left without any clear resolution. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I cannot recommend this pharmacy.

They do seem a bit slow with processing. Staff could also be a bit warmer, but there is a lady called Zoe and a Far Eastern lady (possibly mixed race) who are lovely. Absolutely hate the lunch situation. I know no other store, let alone the size of Boots, who close for lunch in this day and age. And it is 2-3pm. Also, the door touch system is good to enter, but upon exit the door seems very dangerous. Somebody is going to be seriously hurt one day as the heavy doors literally slam in to your body.

Today I stopped by this Boots in the morning and witnessed the pharmacist speaking to a lady very loudly and rudely. The lady was so annoyed she ran out of the store. I left the store because I wanted to get my blood pressure checked so I needed to cool down my mood. When I came back around 1600, the pharmacist was still there and still mad about the whole world. She was rude to me too. I think the HQ needs to put her to more training sessions!

2 separate occasions I have been told the pharmacist should be in but isn’t, told to come back the next day, to get a time essential tablet, to then still not be in!! Tried to call this time to make sure she would be in before making the trip down, but no one answers the phone. To then add to it the opening times are not clearly detailed on online/their website that that are closed for lunch between 2-3pm!

Really pleased with the help from the team here with my medication. One store didn’t have my medication which is urgent to me daily. And this store was able to help with the 111 service and were very reassuring, organised and calm.

The pharmacy and staff here are straight up chaos. They are CONSISTENTLY having staffing shortages/issues and this was pre-covid as well as during. The staff are so rude and disorganised, you could probably set off a fire in the corner and they’d still be “too busy” and discombobulated to bother doing anything about it. Not too busy to give attitude towards their customers though, always got time for that it would appear.

Just an overall frustrating and terrible experience. I put a prescription in and was advised that they didn't have stock and it would need to be ordered in (not a problem because that usually happens and I'm prepared to wait). I return a couple of days later, queue for a while because the pharmacists were talking amongst themselves, but loud enough for the entire floor to hear about how they didn't like one of their colleagues. After a while, I was seen.... after searching ages for my prescription only to be told that what I needed is out of stock despite supposedly ordering it in days before. There was no thought to tell me beforehand despite having my phone number and that fact that I had ran out of my medication the same day. No apology was given as I was simply told to find it elsewhere. The same thing happened with my partner who is type 1 diabetic. We visited the pharmacy around 3 times to collect needles and medication, but everytime was told they're out of stock and need ordering in despite being reassured that the next day we'll be able to collect them. Someone who is insulin dependent cannot continously be sent away with the promise of medication the next day. This pharmacy needs huge improvement and better care towards customer needs, more so, a little more thought towards stock and urgency. I wouldn't recommend this place if you need any medication the same day.
