Pleasant parking attendant, easily parked but it does get full every evening. Tremendous food with a lovely oldie worlde atmosphere. Good shop for truck accessories. Last of the old school truck stops..
Great truck stop good food and portions are massive. £1 for a £6 food voucher. £2 for 7 minute shower token. Facilities are really clean and tidy. Bar & live sports too. Definitely one of my favourite truck stops
They say they don’t accept running frigos that is why I payed in advance to rest here for two nights. After we parked, I was BLOCKED by a running frigo and I couldn’t move forward or backward. It was my favorite parking and I used to park here all the time since 2016, now I avoid it. The mushrooms chicken was not cooked enough, I didn’t send it back because it was impossible to do anything about it after that and I didn’t want to find some ‘spices’ added. They couldn’t provide me the bank card receipt which I needed. And the showers are good, but they should have start/stop buton, especially for women, 7-8 minutes it is not enough, or at least it should play the sound one minute before ending, not when the water stops so we are able to rinse.
Just parked here 4 the night WOW everything is clean and spotless Then it comes to the food I had pork loin steak And its fantastic one of the best I have ever eaten If the truck fits i will definitely be back again
Very good setup, and improving, including new truck wash, large fenced parking area, with hard standing for around 100 - 200 trucks. I went inside for a breakfast, and had the Full version, which was quite good for £7.95 this included tea or coffee, but no toast or bread/butter. But I wanted a cold can of drink, which cost me £1.30 extra for a standard Orange Tango.
This place is amzing. On the Road it is difficult to find great truckstops. Especially ones as traditional as this. Open to everyone not just truckers, this place is with out doubt the best stop i have ever stayed in. An amzing decor and seriously good food. Served quickly and piping hot. Ample parking outside and a la carte dining is also available. They have a laundry, a shop, merchandise outlet and a tradional country pub style bar. I will definatley be coming here again.
First time I'm om a actual great and clean parking spot. If you want to sure of a spot make sure you make a reservation before 3 o'clock. But it's all worth it. Good and clean toilets (don't forget to tip the cleaner) and specious, hot showers. After this it's time to eat. And eating it is at the Red Lion. For just 1 pound additional to the parking costs (SNAP is accepted) you can have a great meal. This is a well earned 5 star SNAP spot.
