As someone who studied at the college as a mature student, who did day and evening courses through the college just mindful a few things before applying for courses at Plumpton. 1. Specific courses are inconsistent with eachother - Canine Behaviour doesnt correlate with other courses like canine behaviour to Dog Grooming Level 1, dog grooming level 1 to dog Grooming Level 2; in hindsight instead of setting you up from level 1 to level 2, or the behaviour course helping you understand dog behaviour and the courses being inter-relatable, they're not. 2. Second issue is I feel being mis-sold a day course - homework being the biggest issue - as someone with specific responsibilities it is important I have all the information I need either on the college day just before you finish. Instead of having all the homework laid out before you finish the day, it's drip fed throughout the week through an online system which isn't fit for purpose. Other issues include having to constantly chase after certificates for completed courses, (I finished cabinet behaviour earlier in this year and it took the College six months of me emailing the college and my tutor(s) to get resolved, (my canine behaviour tutor was really good in trying to sort the issue out,) The online learning aspect as previously mentioned isn't fit for purpose, when I started my level 1 dog grooming course I found that most of the electrical equipment hadn't been PAT tested since 2021, (again that took a few months to resolve and even then some of the equipment wasn't even tested and labelled correctly,) and also the start time for the level 2 dog grooming course; if I didn't get to the College an hour and a half before the lesson started, you had miniminal chance of getting to the college on time, (due to the bad roads and lack of parking,) on the college grounds. Other students with children struggled and the tutor initially wasn't understanding at all on their situation even though the student mentioned having parental responsibilities and did try to contact the tutor and college through the right channels. As a result I have instead opted to work with a dog groomers to attain my level 2 in dog grooming.

We (best friends) attended an ntroduction to floristry course for our birthday's. It was a beautiful one.day workshop, in a gorgeous environment. Our teacher Ellie was fantastic and the workshop.was great value for money and a really enjoyable thing to do on your birthday, we had lots of fun and came home with some beautiful quality flower creations that we made ourselves. Great for the soul! We'll definitely back :)

Went and done my tig welding course and it was a really great experience! The staff are really friendly, helpful and understanding. The food at lunch was good quality and a great price. The equipment was at a high quality standard so you can benefit from understanding on how they work! Would definitely recommend!

Finished a 2 day course today - tractor driving for beginners at Plumpton and Iβm honestly sad itβs over. We had a brilliant, and I mean brilliant, teacher in Dave who made everything interesting and absorbing. Even the often tedious health and safety legislation, he made it relevant to our situations and spoke from experience. Iβm a mixed group including some young folks with low confidence but also older students (including myself) who had some limited tractor experience or at least driving experience. Dave was fantastic, he was attentive to all of us and spent extra time really paying attention to the younger students and building up the confidence of those of the group who were a little more shy and nervous. Iβve left with FAR more confidence in my tractor driving skills and honesty Iβve never enjoyed a course so much, Iβm a little sad Iβm not going back for more on Monday. I thoroughly recommend this course if you are a beginner tractor driver or have an interest in becoming involved in agriculture. With any luck youβll get Dave as your teacher, the guy is fantastic. A good laugh as well as professional and a superb teacher. Thanks Dave the Teacher from Dave the Student

Tutors and community are very friendly and inclusive. Unfortunately there can be a lot of management issues and poor communication at times. It's good if you want to undertake first-hand experience and get moderate academic knowledge on a particular subject in the curriculum. Overall in my opinion a fairly decent college.

As an older student trying to start again I was worried/nervous but the level of diversity this college has is lightyears ahead of where the world needs to be! Going here, with the other students and the teachers/lecturer's makes me feel lucky
