Really rude woman serving. We queued up for 20 minutes, got to the counter at 3.30 (they close at 5pm) to be huffed at because we wanted to order food. The woman agreed to accept one more order and then moaned because it was 'a big order'....sandwiches for 4 people. I asked why there isnt a sign to let people know that food isnt served after 3.30 so that they don't waste 20 minutes queueing up and she just said that they can find out when they get to the front of the line. She said that they close when they need to and were shutting early as it is winter and it gets dark. It was 3.30pm, early October. I dont think I've had one positive interaction with this person, she really lets the place down. The food is pretty good though, at a decent price and the younger staff are pleasant. But I've never felt like such an inconvenience, ordering food from a place that exists to sell food!

As others have said, staff are consistently rude and surly. Last time we went we asked if they had sparkling water to be met with a snappy "we've got what you can see on the sign" Another occasion, inside, I opened a front facing fridge with snacks in at the till and handed it over to pay. Was shot down with a "that's a staff only fridge!" was made to put it back. She then had to walk round the counter to get it out and bring it to me (it was the wrong one which when I pointed it out was met with a huff) I walk the reservoir with my baby often but now choose to bring a thermos and my own snacks and take in the view a few benches away.

Before we could settle down the kids for their lunch and proceed to order our own food, drinks and ice cream, the lady owner came up and was unnecessarily rude. Instead of just stating that only their own food and drinks can be consumed on their premises (completely understandable and would have happily obliged to move on if we wasn't planning to buy), she was rude and abruptly said this is how they make a living. No need for that last comment. We would have been apologetic and explained we were actually planning to buy something to eat. Rather, her last comment ended the conversation and she made the assumption we wasn't going to buy anything. This just annoyed us and we left. Clearly there was a bee in her bonnet that day and decided to take it out on potential customers. Hopefully she has better days and speaks to visitors with kindness and politely move them on, if they are not going to be paying customers. 1 star given for the location of the cafe only.

I really want to support this cafe but my goodness the staff do not make it easy. I'm yet to have a nice experience here. The latest visit (with two newborn babies), we were asked to move away from the table where they put the coffees out on, despite waiting for a coffee. Not sure where they wanted us to go. Staff desperately need some training or a P45.

Ordered nearly a £5 coffee with toppings and extras. Came out as a regular coffee. When I asked the staff to add the toppings (that I had paid for) they seemed like it was a massive inconvenience. No apology or anything for that matter, just placed the coffee in front of me and walked back into the kitchen. As other reviewers have mentioned, everyone has an off day, however we visit almost weekly and the staff are always miserable and devoid of any customer service. I think this is the last time we will be spending any money there.

We’re local to Daventry and love visiting the country park, as it’s beautiful to walk around and there’s lots of wildlife to be seen. We tend to finish our lap at the café with a coffee but unfortunately are always treated as if we’re a nuisance with rude service when ordering. We often get huffing and puffing as a side to our coffees! If it was on the odd occasion I wouldn’t be writing this, as everyone has bad days, but we visit at least weekly and it’s always the same. We’ve now started taking flasks for our walks instead. Cheaper and, more importantly, we don’t feel like we’re annoying anyone by spending money with them! On a separate note, their coffee machine makes lovely cappuccinos at the touch of a button.

Cafe at the Country Park. Just the right thing after a walk. Good choice of drinks and menu for snacks reasonably priced. Lovely views. Staff very helpful. Outside seating at the moment. Lots of renovations to be seen from the cafe.

Most of the staff aren't grumpy. Decent little place to grab a tea/coffee and a light bite. Indoor and outdoor seating. Toilets nearby.

Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but been here a couple times now recently and the experience is always the same. Be warned this is not a fast food cafe. Usually I order chips and each time I have found myself sitting around for half an hour waiting for them. They aren't worth the wait either. Last time I tried something different and went for a stake bake, which seeing as it was wrapped up at the front I assumed it would be a case of them just warming it up. After sitting around for 15 minutes I was handed this lukewarm bake that was completely raw pastry on the bottom and the inside was cold. I was never told how long I could expect to wait. Just buy an ice cream and don't put yourself through the trouble.
