   I was fortunate to attend this school from the middle of the Junior School all the way through to A-Levels in the mid 80's. A wonderful, school, with so many great memories, and a great many lifetime friends as a result. At times it was tough. The prefect system needed careful navigation, to make sure you didn't step too far out of line, and the teachers were really wonderful, and inspiring. Whatever your interests were, and you were very much encouraged to get stuck in, they were well catered for. I was a huge fan of the Projects Lab, where we tinkered with all sorts of kit, with just enough supervision. We even saw the hovercraft in action at one point, after a surge of effort. Computers were just taking off, and this, with a mix of the Physics, Maths and Chemistry inspired me to become a Chartered Engineer. Overall a fabulous place. Punting, printing press, punk music blasting, long afternoons of cricket and tennis, Pirates of Penzance with the PNEU, chemistry experiments in the pottery shed. And some work, obviously. Ahh, those were the best days.

   Awful place. I had the misfortune of attending Hurst College from year 5 to year 8. I never achieved well academically and was made to feel entirely worthless as a result. Hurst is focussed purely on profits and the actual education of students is definitely not a priority.
