Context: I was born in Germany and moved to England at the age of 5. In Germany, you don't get to the equivalent of year 1 at the age of 5, but in England you do, so I should have, based on knowledge, started in reception, but instead, I had to (because of my age) join year 1, 2 weeks before the end. I was in Year 6, and we went to Crawley college for some Stem Learning thing, and we got there and there were different stations where you could do different things and one of them was colouring something, and so I went up to the teacher who was at the station and asked her what I needed to do, and she replied saying I need to colour it in with the Primary and Secondary colours and I asked her what they were, and she looked at me like I was an idiot and said something like "Well you should know them" in an arrogant condescending way and assumed I'm a thick skulled person not able to take in anything instead of actualy telling me what Primary and Secondary colours are. Teachers are supposed to tell you information. Worst Experience I am not going to this college.

Honestly the worst academic year in my college life. The curriculum for the engineering and manufacturing misguided me to doing a t level in level 3 when I asked about the BTEC level 3 engineering which has now currently been discontinued. When I asked what the BTEC course involved I got bumped back with the excuse of it being for “adults” when it showed that it was for 16-19 students. Since starting the year at college, my support there has been poor not should I say it’s non existent. When I ask for help from the Learning support assistant for help based on what formula I use to answer the question, he gets annoyed with me and tells me “to read the bloody question” and multiple times tells me to “go and get a haircut”. Along side with me being called “cocky”. On certain occasions he gets extremely aggressive towards me when I’m just asking a simple question, in other words it’s because “I ask too many questions” Along with that when I ask where the revision syllabus and course book is for revision, the only answer I always get is “oh it’s on teams” without any in depth guidance to where it’s located. And most of the folders aren’t even labelled for me to scroll for minutes finding the sheet. Teachers leave us sitting around in the class room for 30 mins before the lesson actually starts. Aside from the engineering department, there are other sides of the college that are negative. For example when I really needed to speak to counselling there eventually it turned out that I only had six sessions for the year and they said to me that “oh but we have other students to see” by making out it’s my problem. There was times when I was called into college when we wasn’t even needed and lessons were not even running without notice. In my opinion, my best advice to everyone is make sure you find the correct information based on what course you sign up to. I’m not saying other colleges are far better but at my previous college the experience was far different. But if I can be honest about Crawley, don’t bother taking the chance.

I just completed my AM2E electrical assessment at the college last week. Quick and easy to get to and had plenty of parking for 50p a day. From my first phone call to the end of my course I found ALL the staff professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

DO NOT RECOMMEND This college was a good place to study however they kept closing courses down. As of this, I personally believe that it is pointless to even consider enrolling at Crawley College. My course, a Business and Finance class, was unfortunately shut down and they didn't even warn myself or the other students prior the closure. I tried to join another course (Bookkeeping) which they wouldn't even let me continue with, which was shambolic of this facility. Despite the closing courses, there were good people attending this college so it is a shame how these students were left in the dark.

Really disappointed with this college. Unfortunately I have to attend here as this is the only location that my work can send me to for this course. Staff employed by my company have been exceptionally good, however the college staff have delivered exceptionally poor standards of lessons - they talk to us like we are teenagers despite the fact that we are all grown adults with strong life experience. On week 6 of a 7 week course now and despite promising on my first day that it would be resolved quickly I am still waiting for my WiFi password (I need this as the course is half run on our ipads) - I have now given up. The standard of the PowerPoint presentations by my work is strong, however the college won't let my work use these so we have to use the crawley college ones, which are horrifically bad (full of grammar and spelling mistakes, not enough information and are visually uninspiring). Would never choose to go here if I had a choice.

I am currently doing a course in the engineering department. The electrical equipment is all either old or broken. There is no one checking the quality of the equipment that we are using on a day to day basis. The teachers bully students. And with 2 more months of college left we are told that they messed up and that we have 2 more units that we have yet to start. With a 12 hour exam they have not provided adequate space for exam conditions for my class when they did for other classes at our expense, we missed lessons because of other classes being in exams but we were stuffed in one room with barely enough room to work.
