Avoid at all costs. My experience with this academy—previously L3Harris, now Acron Aviation—was incredibly disappointing and financially damaging. I paid substantial amount of money for their integrated ATPL program, completed only the Ground School phase, and was terminated before flight training began, despite meeting the performance standards I was told applied. The performance criteria used to justify my termination were never clearly communicated during training and were only formalised after I was removed. The Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) reviewed my complaint and ruled it JUSTIFIED, stating I was unfairly terminated and deserved proper consideration. To this day, I have not been refunded for the flight training portion I never received, which is frankly unacceptable. I was left thousands of pounds out of pocket, with nothing to show for it but a terminated contract and a loss of trust in a system that should support aspiring pilots. If you’re a prospective cadet, please think twice before enrolling here. You deserve transparency, fairness, and a school that supports its students—not one that changes the rules mid-course and refuses to take accountability.

My airline sent me there for my LPC, we ended in an old FFS 737, lot of problems, lags, inaccurate and finally motion broke half way of the session Took them more than 4h to fix it Talking with other pilots, they said it’s the case for months and months for all the sims

Please exercise caution when considering this flight school. I enrolled in an Integrated ATPL program with L3Harris in 2018 and was assigned to their Portuguese base in Ponte de Sor. Despite passing all my exams on the first attempt and graduating at the top of my class, I experienced significant delays in my training. My flight time was severely limited, averaging between 0 and 5 hours per month, and after two years, I had only completed the theoretical portion and logged 20 flight hours. When COVID-19 struck, the school was unable to cope and abruptly closed the Ponte de Sor base, dismissing all students at that location simultaneously. A quick search for "L3 Ponte de Sor" in the news will provide more context. They initially offered us a refund of €50,000, despite the fact that we had already paid for the entire training program and had only completed the theoretical portion at that point. Fortunately, with legal assistance, a few other students and I were able to secure a more substantial settlement. However, I strongly advise caution as my experience with this school was far from satisfactory. I eventually completed my training at a low-cost flight school, where I received superior instruction compared to L3Harris. I am now a First Officer with Air France, but I attribute none of my success to L3Harris.

The building is very modern and clean, the staff at the front desk were very polite and welcoming and the simulators themselves work well.

Experienced for the first time the thrill of flying (as close as it gets to the real thing for me) a Boeing 737 in a full motion flight simulator. The facilities here really are first class. Everything is clean and the staff very polite. I would love to come here to train to become a pilot if I wasn’t so old!
