EDIT: This review is West Suffolk Hospital who have since turned off their ability to receive reviews. I don't know why M&S has been tagged instead, they've got great meal deals. My grandma had a stroke and was admitted to G8, was refused discharge for a week and a half on the grounds she didn't have enough carers to look after her at home and the hospital didn't want her unattended. Aside from one day when the whole staffing unit refused to allow any patients to receive/make phone calls to talk to relatives, being ignored a few times and a few rude nurses, her stay was relatively uneventful. However today when my father went up to see her in hospital, we found out that she had been driven home at 10am with no notice, left by herself (even after all that hassle and drama about her not having enough carers), and subsequently she had a nasty fall. Unimpressed and infuriated doesn't even begin to describe how my family feel.

I'm a Support worker. I was with one of my ladies. The staff had to talk to me about my lady. The junior doctor was absolutely awful. His attitude was really bad. We were put into a ward for overnight observations. The next day my lady was going home. But because it was the weekend, there was no doctor on at the weekend for the whole hospital. That is absolutely appalling. Hospitals are supposed to be crying out for beds. Get more doctors to discharge at the weekends

2 hour waiting time (apparently that is good) for my father waiting in the ambulance outside the hospital due to not enough beds. Excellent paramedics, nurses mixed (some spend too much time gossiping rather than attending patients). Junior doctors excellent. Lack of qualified doctors. To much reliance on overseas staff. Wards understaffed. Don't answer phone in wards because not enough staff. The NHS isn't fit for purpose.

My partner had to visit A&E yesterday. Despite being busy, we were well looked after. The doctor who saw us took the time to actually explain and take us through the issues and didn't rush us! The other staff efficiently took samples and dealt with us promptly when it was our turn. It was busy, and patients were stressed, and there were a lot of us. It felt thought that there was a system in place. It took time, but it worked. Thank you, Sister Mary and Dr. James in particular.

Friendly staff, well signed inside so you can't get lost. Lots of wheelchairs available at the entrance. Paid Parking outside the front of the hospital. About average hospital food. The food is handmade within the hospital, they use local, fresh & healthy choices. Also there is 2 restaurants & 2 shops inside the hospital. Accessible to visitors & patients (excluding patient's who are able to walk to & from.) Vending machines are scattered throughout the hospital with drinks & snacks. Via the (run by volunteers) hospital charity shop, you can use their online website. You can purchase:- food, clothing, puzzles, fizzy drinks etc... They can be delivered to the patient's bed or ward within the hospital. There is a small fee, but it's well worth it. Minimum spend applies, which is another low & affordable price. Items can be purchased from members of public or by the patient.

I cannot thank this team enough. From the receptionist to the nurses and doctors they genuinely cared, listened and investigated. Their prompt actions saved me not only from deteriorating into what could have become a life threatening illness but meant my pain was relieved and I could be sent home after 24 hours. The only member who failed me was the A&E gp on duty but thankfully I refused his suggestion so he reffered me to the A&E team. Once again, thank you.

The day surgery department are incredible. From walking in and dealing with the receptionist, right through to the surgeon in theatre - I couldn’t fault a thing. I walked into theatre recognising every face since they had all individually come round and introduced themselves. The bedside manner from each and every member of staff was top tier! Special shout out to Denise for being with me from the start and to the rest of the ward team for making everything feel just that bit better. You are all amazing!

This is not a reflection on the staff, they mostly are hard working. This is a reflection on the fact the car park is full all the time, the staff are over worked and under paid. Recently received “care” but I think I would rather die next time. (Which I will do). I spend 12hours in the A&E waiting room. Was seen by a doctor, while I still sat in the waiting room in front of everyone else (it was very full) before being moved to a side room. I did need life saving treatment… which I do appreciate but next time I will travel to a larger hospital in a city near by instead of risking dying in the waiting room of A&E (because I was misdiagnosed at triage)

Just arrived home after checks on my (adult) son for suspected DVT. Had blood tests, ultrasound scan and saw a doctor for the results. Everyone was very pleasant, helpful, chatted throughout and answered all my questions. The receptionist offered a cup of tea and biscuits half way through our time there and the whole experience was amazing, it was like an expensive private hospital. Thank you, your caring and efficient service is very much appreciated.

My son needed a CT scan. The lady at Radiology was extremely helpful - Rachel at reception in the CT scan area was incredibly helpful, friendly, caring and generally all round amazing! This hospital really is so well run especially considering current circumstances. Thank you to all staff for all you do!
