   I have 3 children at Michael Hall, all 3 are thriving both personally and educationally. The children are held, encouraged and supported so beautifully right from kindergarten all the way up. The wonderful thing about Michael Hall is that the children are allowed to grow at their own pace, without pressure or competition, that there is just as much importance placed on main lesson as there is say, land work. This allows the children the chance to explore within themselves. My children can be painfully shy but they are each coming out of their shells and growing in confidence at a daily rate - this is 100% down to the way Michael Hall teaches and holds the children. Our children and us as parents are extremely happy with the school. There is a lot of warmth felt from all staff not just the class teachers (who are incredibly approachable and always at hand to listen or answer questions). I recommend the school to all that I can.

   All four of our children are or have been at Michael Hall School - not without careful thought and consideration also of the other schools on offer in the area at key stages of their schooling. Each time we have questioned we have come to the conclusion that there is nowhere better for our children. The school allows the child to develop in a balanced way, without pressure, but this does not stop students achieving highly - rather, it enhances their achievements. Michael Hall does not flaunt its exam results as it measures its success in many different ways but don't be fooled by the fact that there is an equal emphasis on the value of crafts, art and drama - academically capable students get to top universities including Oxbridge, armed with many skills as well as their academic achievements. The education gives space for students to get to know what interests them and take their talents in these directions whether it be sciences, drama, music, architecture, farming, working with adults with special needs, furniture design to name but a few. Our children have chosen to stay at the school right through to the end of A levels because of the supportive social environment that is built by the parallel Steiner curriculum and because they are happy and fulfilled. We couldn't recommend it more.

   A beautiful school. Both my children love going to school. They are thriving academically and have a joy to try new things. With a whole child holistic approach to developing the individual, Michael Hall school is rich in artistic and sensory approaches that are integrated into the methods of teaching. The school provides an education that teaches the head, heart and hands of the child according to their development. It’s uncompromising in delivering a beautifully rich play based early years curriculum. Way ahead of the times . I highly recommend this school if you are looking for a rich education that develops independent creative thinkers, and who have an open approach to life.

   We’ve moved from a Steiner school in Brazil to Michael Hall mid pandemic. We’re still getting acquainted with the school and the environment, but our first impressions are very good. Our three children adore their teachers and are thriving in the new environment. Management is clearly going through growing pains, but moving forward and what we see and feel through our children is as awe inspiring as other wonderful Steiner schools. Careful with reviewers who do not name themselves and who only offer negative reviews to anything they review.

   Since joining Michael Hall, my children have never been happier. The staff are lovely, creative and caring. The school itself has a peaceful feel and it is just a perfect environment in which children can be themselves, do their best and discover what they like through experience.
