Well Pharmacy Pontardawe has improved immensely since the new pharmacist has arrived, the shop has been refurbished and the queues are now mostly a thing of the past, very few customer v staff arguments lately because the service now is great which is a credit to all staff members

I went to well today to collect my perscription, I was greeted by a older gentleman who was quick to collect my perscription for me but I had to wait 20mins for the pharmacists to check it off. As i was sitting there waiting I was looking around and the floor of the chemist was absolutely disgusting used tissue thrown on the floor bits on the floor it could really do with a good clean .the shelves were also dusty it is a chemist it's supposed to be clean I was shocked to be honest I am going to change to another chemist for my perscription in future .

They messaged to say that my repeat prescription was ready for collection. When I went there and queued for 40 minutes I was told that my prescription had been sent back to the surgery as I hadn't contacted for a week. The surgery said that Well wouldn't have sent the prescription back due to the type of medication. It turned out that Well had forgotten to order my repeat. I went to the surgery and collected an emergency prescription. I went to Well and when I got home discovered that they had given me the wrong strength. I have tried numerous times to phone them but they are not answering the phone. Terrible service which also could be life threatening had I not checked the strength.

Been trying for three weeks to get my daughter’s medication, each time being told they haven’t ordered it, come back Monday. They gave me an iou slip so I could not go elsewhere. In this time, my daughter has run out of her medication. Today when I tried to pick it up, I was told that their supplier no longer supplies them with this medication. After speaking with the receptionist at the health centre she found it absolutely disgusting, and has told me that it appears they haven’t been truthful with me as she uses the same brand of medication and there is no supply issue. Thankfully, she gave me an emergency prescription to take elsewhere. I think it is completely neglectful to allow a four year old to go without medication, she is not the only person who needs this medication in Pontardawe and I just hope that others don’t fall into the same issues that we have had.

Great experience of the common ailment scheme, even though it was busy, I barely had to wait 10/15 minutes (which is usually a minimum wait in the GP surgery even with an appointment) and the staff were so friendly and calm, even though they were rushed off their feet. Most prescriptions completed within 5 minutes (of the patients waiting whilst I was there) praising good work as many are quick to complain. Thank you.

Terrible waiting times. I go every weds, my waiting times are mostly an hour. Thats about 40 mins waiting to get served, 20-30 mins to then get my perscription. Is this the natural conclusion to the NHS ? Purposely underfund/understaff it, so each place closes with no new ones opening ?

Maybe there is a shortage of pharmacists but there is no excuse for not employing someone just to answer the phone. How many ill, old and disabled people are catchibg buses and dragging themselves all the way down to Pontardawe to stand in a queue for over an hour just to find out that their prescription isn't in anyway. If someone could just answer the phone they could save people who are already unwell (and maybe even infectious) making an unnecessary journey - and reduce the queue length at the same time. Create a job and solve some of this pain for both your overworked staff and your already unwell customers.

Awful experience, had to queue for 40 minutes on the saturday just to hand in my prescription, had to order in my item which took 4 days to come back. Wanted to phone to see if item was there to save queuing but did not answer the phone after trying numerous times. So went hoping the item was there and had to queue for 35 minutes on the Thursday. When i got to the front of the huge queue of around 20 people my item hadn't been packed and had to be looked for. It was found in the delivery box which hadnt been unpacked. Had to wait further for this to be sorted out. Staff took ages to deal with each person, disappearing frequently around the back and even left the shop a couple of times before dealing with next person. Lots of disappointed people in the queue. A new system is needed, maybe somewhere where people can put in prescriptions without queuing for 30 minutes plus and somewhere else people could queue to collect prescriptions already packed and ready for collection. Everything is the same queue whether you are purchasing anything or prescriptions. Absolute shambles. Won't use this chemist ever again.

I waited an hour and half for my prescription today. This pharmacy is short staffed and cannot meet the demands of busy town. The staff are competent and polite but it's becoming increasingly well known that they simply cannot keep up with the growing population of Pontardawe. The system.is not working.

So today I've experienced 1 hour &25 minutes wait. The young lady behind the counter being verbally abused by countless members of the public. The two ladies here were placed under ridiculous conditions, pressure& just down right rudeness. The headquarters need to put posters up to say there will be zero tolerance to anyone abusing staff. They were doing an amazing job, with 1 pharmacist. They need more staff,a better system for dropping off prescriptions that can be collected later, or public just having common sense& go elsewhere. If there are issues with health centre not issuing a prescription that isn't well staff fault. It's one hottest days of the year& some people have nothing better to do than shout at people who don't get paid enough to put up with derogatory comments. Well done ladies, please don't let the minority bring you down. You are doing well and above what you should be doing .
