   We have frequented The Old Bank a number of times over the years for pre-theatre meals. Our latest visit did not disappoint. The ambience is perfect and you can choose to take in the Sports coverage or not - it’s not a distraction at all for those who want to talk and socialise. The building reminds us of Gringotts Bank from The Harry Potter series - a beautiful building inside and out. We (my much better half, daughter and myself) ordered a main meal each, a couple of drinks and my tap water. Great value at only £42 with large portion sizes. Food quality is top notch - with dishes including The Festive Burger both inventive and absolutely delicious. Food came in good time for our Theatre visit. All plates cleared, which is rare for us. Service is excellent and attentive. The Old Bank is a gem in the centre of Northampton, close to the nightlife, the Derngate Theatres and lots of other venues/entertainment. Highly recommended.

   I ordered fries and it came piping hot, not overly salted and in a good portion. I absolutely enjoyed my meal. Also, Faye was the staff that served me and she was an absolute darling. Very polite, bubbly and came to check in about my order or if I needed anything else. I great experience overall.

   I called in advance to confirm the pub was open and the young lady that answered had an unpleasant telephone etiquette. Despite her attitude we still opted to give it a try. When we arrived there were a few people there. I knew immediately who answered the phone. The white young lady stared at us with no greeting. I had to ask her if we should seat ourselves at which point the black young lady walked over and told us we can sit anywhere. We had to walk up to the bar to place our order and were informed there would be a 30 minute wait. Our drinks were given to us to be carried to the table. After 45 minutes of waiting I walked up to the bar to inquire about my bottle water that had been purchased. After 50 minutes we inquired about the food. We were told they would check on the status of our order. About 5 minutes later the wings came out. (All flats were requested. The white young lady with the attitude said she was unsure whether she'd be able to accommodate said request. She went into the kitchen and continued on.) When the wings arrived there was all drums. Not one flat piece was on the plate. We were then informed the rest of the food would be an additional 15-20 minute wait. We were on a time schedule and did not have another 20 minutes beyond the hour we already waited so we decided to receive a refund and go. The white young lady said there is a 15-20 minute wait on top of the 30 minute wait for the food. Why? "The world may never know. " I cannot comment on the food because we were not able to taste anything. Service was not good. No one came to the table to check on us or ask if we needed a refill on any of our drinks since we had been waiting so long. Atmosphere was okay but the attitude of the white young lady made it felt a bit hostile. I would not patron this establishment again. Do not allow my experience to deter you from patronizing this establishment. Just make sure you have TIME to wait.

   Didn’t experience it due to their crap policy on shorts… the venue was dead, like completely awful. They were not accommodating at all and didn’t want my business. I would not recommend. Jake, while nice had no leadership skill to allow on one occasion. The gentleman on the door allowed me to enter and scanned my ID with my shorts inside out and then immediately pulled me out of the completely dead venue. Avoid at all costs in my opinion, it’s crazy that they didn’t want my custom tbh considering the state of the pub.

   Great pub with friendly service and a solid food menu Dropped by The Old Bank with the lads for a beer before our graduation and ended up returning after the ceremony to try a few more. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed — perfect for the occasion. A special shoutout to the barman Ollie, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We didn’t hesitate to leave a tip. We ordered the mac and cheese for my kid, which she enjoyed, and the loaded nachos truly lived up to their name — generous portions and full of flavour. There’s also a wide variety of snacks and pub food on the menu. A great spot whether you’re out with friends or family.

   This place has a nice atmosphere, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We went during the day and children were allowed in. The food was really well presented and tasted as good as it looked. We had flatbread and houmous, battered haloumi, scampi and chips and katsu chicken burger.
