   Terrible communication, came in for rocker cover leak and asked if they could have a look at start motor but asked for them to call before doing any work. They ended up calling when the work was done and fitted a 200 pound battery which I never asked for!!!! Won’t go there again, don’t recommend.

   Really poor service. Friend took my car here while I was away because rear tyre was losing pressure. Told no nail in tyre but maybe tyre was cracked. Valve replaced and sent on his way £30 lighter. Should have gone to Specsavers guys! On my return tyre still losing pressure. My regular garage took 20 secs to spot the problem, ten minutes to fix it and charged £15! Disappointing nexperience

   I called to ask how much it would cost to do a front wheel bearing. They called back ten minutes later saying £150+VAT. Got it done the next day and when I went to pay, the bill jumped to £250! Apparently they didn't quote for the actual part. I was also quoted £220 incVAT from another garage so would have gone there. No apology and no signs of a discount. They simply could not care less.

   Very misleading. I went in for a quote to replace rear pads and was advised total cost is £150, which was okay. When the job was done I was then told it’s £185 including VAT!! Which is completely different compared to what I was told the first time. If someone asks what’s the total price of something, you should include or charges. Why tell me it’s £150 then tell me a different price once the work is done. The guy at the reception has to clue what his doing!!!

   I have been using Homans for many years and been very happy and trusting. However my last experience was not good. Bill was not itemised and MOT and service + brake pad replacement plus rod end replacement came to £723 way over what was expected plus was never notified of cost and took 4 days as the wrong parts kept being wrongly ordered. It’s important for loyal customers to know that ownership has changed. I’m told the same mechanics are still there but I feel I was ripped off and service was lacking not what I’ve ever experienced over the years. I will not be going back.

   Took in 2 different cars over a 2 year period. They definitely made minor issues worse each time whilst apparently diagnosing!. Ultimately leading to paying more overall. They might be Ok for MOTs (because it pretty much visual check), BUT won't trust them for much else in my honest opinion/experience

   After 10 years of loyal custom my partner put her car in for a MOT and service. Homans did £1000 worth of unauthorized work before doing the MOT. The vast majority of this work didn't need to be done. They've poorly cable tied an air inlet pipe back on the car which resulted in the car filling up with smoke and major panic. Not interested in refunding anything. Total and utter rip off merchants. If you're a lone women taking your car in here be very aware of who your dealing with
