If you want to experience bullying in university , come to this one. This is truly one of the worst university. They play with your mental health, support bullying, and call it their β€œteaching method.” I was bullied in the health department by someone who presented herself as a doctor and a professional, yet showed zero professionalism. When I reported the bullying to the college, they claimed it was simply part of their teaching method. It’s unbelievable that they think they can treat students however they want. My complaint was backed with solid evidence and confirmed by several other students. But the college dismissed it with a ridiculous excuse, essentially admitting that insults and racism are part of their teaching style. This experience left me with two years of mental and emotional distress, and it still upsets me whenever I think about it. This college is truly awful ( one of the words that teacher used about me in front of everyone was β€œawful.” So you decided that using this kind of language is considered a teaching method? )

I have been studying there for 6 months during my 3rd year of undergraduate, and it has been the best experience so far. The teachers are so helpful with the students and the atmosphere makes this university safe and unique. I would recommend without hesitation!

This university is for casual people who want chill university experience at best but not suitable for future careers and study sadly The worst place you could study for Computer Science when I studied was top 20-30s easily almost a decade ago the neighbor Cardiff is easily better by being part of the Russell Group university If you really want to study CS in this uni just choose the Year in Industry option the rest of the lecturers and university don't seem to care for normal students 0 support in terms of alumni and graduate linking which will be evident in your first week as they will give you option to change and final week when you require additional support from them In terms of study wise the quality of lecturers and education is mixed at best some are really great at what they do but they are 1/10 leaving 4/10 terrible 5/10 average from my experience Don't bother to do Foundations for this university its just A level Maths and Mixed Triple Science at best but waste of time and year just to attend this university when the Year 3 modules are the worst compared to other universities which I definitely changed towards better one the difference is night and day The Year 1 is still worst value for money hastily rushed intro to programming and discrete maths but the other half modules in this year are useless Ethics and Professional most time is spent on this useless module Year 2 is where it really starts getting going with busy hectic modules from OOP to starter database to Operating Systems to Automata Systems and depending on your choices but the forced group work for majority of the modules which doesn't need to be group work is what ruins this year and most students are hastily rushed into group to make them teach other for actual cs study Year 3 is final year for the average CS student Year or year in industry for the select few students who chose this option This is the year of specialization and time to publish research but majority won't be able to publish as the quality of information and edge is a decade old where you will realize why did you even pick this uni The information are from 1997 to 2016 at latest depending on modules I would've rated this uni 3/5 but the way the housing staff treated me during the covid times which I will never forget only they know this

attending this uni was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. I 'achieved' a 2:1 in theoretical physics and expected to jump into a fulfilling career in a related field. Instead, I faced wave after wave of rejection in job applications. Like most of my classmates, I've ended up in an industry unrelated to my degree. Trust me, I say this. I learned so little during our time there. Our lecturers would throw out names of phenomena but failed to give us any real context or understanding. Exam preparation boiled down to memorizing past papers and assignments. Without fail, the exams would recycle questions, just with different numbers/modified slightly. I often scored high marks without truly understanding the material. The course felt like a bunch of hoops jumping and box ticking, leading to a degree that lacks any intrinsic value. In hindsight, I wish I'd learned a real world skill like plumbing or electrics instead of wasting four years racking up huge debts. I've often said that my only experience of being scammed was attending university, and I firmly stand by this.

Although it is many months since I left Swansea University. This place is utterly ghastly. Some staff are treated appallingly, while others are given every opportunity which they do not deserve. There is a definitive culture of nepotism that I have experienced first-hand. Some staff are treated terribly and are on short term contracts, while others are promoted without just cause. The bullying among staff is endemic and it is altogether an utterly depressing place to work. One particular individual is Prof David Worsley who has a large ego and runs things with a high degree of partisanship. To prove this, just take a look at some of the poor academic track records of Engineering Prof’s Dave Penny (h-index 5) Prof Cameron Pleydell-Pierce (h-index 2) and Prof James Sullivan (h-index 4), yet they are all Full Professors. With extremely poor and questionable publication records, yet they have still become full-Professors. Why you may ask? Well it is because they are friends of Dave Worsley who has had them unjustly promoted. But these people don’t realise that they are just a laughingstock, because they have not earned these titles. The system is totally unfair and unjust for others who do put the work in. They play this green renewable energy card every five minutes, yet continue to back and support the largest polluter in the Wales (nearby Tata Steel). Hypocrites they all are. I have heard nightmare stories from other staff of how Professors will bully more junior staff, including Professor Martin Bache, who is a particularly nasty and corrosive bully. He bullied my colleague so much that she still suffers from depression because of it. Avoid this unfair, hypocritical and poor excuse for a University. It is not worth the time of day.

Singleton campus is the older style of campus, but in a good setting and has a nice feel. Not the most vibrant if campuses and facilities are limited. But is a solid University and has much to offer.

I cannot over estimate how beautiful this univetsity is. Situated in a beautiful city that has an award for outstanding natural beauty. It is one of the most diverse universities I have visited(and I have visited a few). The university has 2 campuses and this is the singleton campus. It is home to courses that aren't management, engineering or computer science related. If you are looking for a university that is passionate about giving you a nice blend between outstanding academic performance and impeccable student life, then I must recommend Swansea University as a destination you wont regret.

Good university, good connections. Just beside Singleton Park and Hospital. Opposite Swansea Bay. Not far from City Centre or even Mumbles and Gower.
