What on earth has happened to the Dancing Octopus? Once the best chippie in Castle. Chips now in a tray, 20p for a bag. Bring back the girls!!! If you think your quality and portion sizes are better that elsewhere I suggest you go and buy some chips from other chippies!!!

My husband and I have just had another lovely lunch here, the fish & chips were very tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful. I saw the previous review from someone calling the current team 'dogs.' That’s very rude and unfair. That person must be connected to the old staff. My experience has been completely positive. The staff are polite, hardworking and the food quality is excellent. I’m always happy to support this shop.

I go here often. Or, used too. Sunday's food was terrible. Chips under done and more like boiled, mashed potato. The fish went from fryer to being wrapped without being drained. It was full of greasy oil and soft batter that peeled off when I got home (a five minute walk). I did not recognise the staff either. I wonder if there has been a change of owner? I'm sorry but after wasting my money I will not return.

Newcomer to area, this seems by far best fish and chip shop around so far. They do those amazingly special chicken curries with chips that remind me of beach towns in South Wales.

Very greasy food. Pretty slow. Overall okay - we only visited as we were on the way past. Parking was lacking as well.

I have had 1 poor experience when the chips i was served looked and tasted like they had sat in cold fat so i didnt go back for quite a while. I have been back recently and the standard of food has improved greatly and i was impressed with the standard, the staff are always friendly and i witnessed them constantly cleaning their work areas when not serving the customers. I now will use this chippy again with no hesitation

Very friendly, polite staff and yummy food. Their chips, gravy and sausage was the perfect pick me up after getting soaked twice in the rain today. Would definitely recommend!

Touted as the best fish and chips in Newcastle under Lyme but I can only say it’s not the best I have tried in the United Kingdom. Was too hungry to take pictures of the actual order but now my curiosity is out of the way (been wanting to try this place for so long but they do not appear on any of the food ordering platforms), I’ll be trying other places to compare who’s best in the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and nice and offered the kids some sweets while we waited in the sweltering summer heat. Be sure to have cash as they do not accept cards
