I had an awful experience at the cafΓ©, where I was treated with unnecessary aggression and disrespect by the premise staff. As a solo woman visiting the cafe, I used my laptop having tea and breakfast in a practically empty cafe. I was approached by one of the premise staff and spoken to in an aggressive and hostile way for using my laptop. It’s disheartening and shocking to encounter such poor customer service, especially in a community space that is supposed to be welcoming. I will not be recommending this place to anyone in the local area, and I’ve shared my experience with other parents at my daughter’s school in Southwick. It's important for businesses, especially those positioned as community hubs, to be inclusive and respectful of all patrons. Treat others how you would want to be treated. I hope the trustees take this feedback seriously, as the centre manager never even bothered to respond to my email regarding this matter. Update: I initially reached out to the centre manager with feedback on the situation. I received a response over a week later with no acknowledgment or apology for how I was treated. Instead, they arranged for a "review" by someone who claimed to be a witness to the incident. However, this is highly suspicious, as there were no other groups of people present at the time, except for an elderly man sitting alone with his phone. The whole process has felt dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly, quite insulting. I feel that the management has failed to address the issue in any meaningful way. The lack of an apology or any effort to understand or resolve the situation is shameful. While I will continue to appreciate the cafe volunteer staff, the management and premises team’s handling of this situation leaves much to be desired and utterly disgraceful.

I go to this community centre for coffee and lunch with 4 other friends. I was in the cafe when this lady was there on her computer working she was not spoken to aggressive and was not asked to leave. There was a notice up saying about people working. The people who work there are volunteers and are all very helpful and pleasant and will help you if they can. It is a busy place and that lady takes up a table just for coffee and stays most of the day. There is a library opposite where she could go have gone where they cater for computers. I would recommend this cafe for there good food and pleasant atmosphere.

The staff at the Southwick community centre are fantastic, especially Bill, Stewart, Jane and Connie! Food is a great price and always tasted lovely. There’s always different events going on and they really do try provide entertainment and other interesting things for local members of the community to partake in! If other community centres were so proactive and involved in their community the world would be a much better place.

A lovely community centre with plenty of great staff and events. I came to eat in their cafe and was quite empty on the Friday morning. I ordere the full English whivh came with tea for Β£5.50. this is super value for money compaired to the high street cafes around the corners. Theor is plenty of lightnanr gardens if you want to eat outside. There was a craft and market event going on which was great. Would definitely keepy eye on the events and come back for food.

I've been there twice now for conferences. The facilities are well kept, the food was good and the theatre area is well laid out and holds around a hundred people. There is a large grass area and some seating outside. There are several other buildings but I didn't go into them.
