We absolutely love Jack and Gills forest school. My daughter has been so happy here, she loves the variety of sometimes going to the farm and sometimes going to the woods or other places. She is in a small group and gets plenty of adult attention which has helped her social skills and speech come on no end in the short time shes been there. Shes constantly chatting away about the staff and the animals at the setting and the things they’ve been doing, which tells us shes very happy in the fantastic childcare setting.

My son has been attending Jack and Gill Childcare and Forest school since September. I was so nervous about sending my son to nursery at just 13 months old but it has been great and he loves it! The settling in sessions were really helpful to view the setting and also meet key staff and see how they interacted with the children as well as being able to see some of the activities that were available. When he first started they were great at taking things at his pace and supporting him when he found it challenging to arrive and leave. The setting are great at communication and key information is passed over both at greeting and when they are collected. I also love receiving pictures and a summary each week of what they have been up to and we can see what they have done at the small holding and woodlands. The staff here care so much for our children and you can see it in their interactions and in how safe and happy the children are when they are there. Since starting at the setting my son’s speech has improved greatly as well as his general confidence and interest in the world around him. He loves being outdoors and playing in nature. I highly recommend Jack and Gill childcare and forest school to anyone and am so grateful that my child is lucky enough to attend here.

My son has attended Jack and Gill for over 2 years. My son is happy and excited to attend and as a parent that is so reassuring to see. Tonia and Brian have provided personalised care for my son within the nurturing and educational environment they offer and he is thriving! My son recalls his adventures of the day and what he has learnt with great enthusiasm. Being outside and learning in the natural environment has benefited my son in so many ways and I certainly recommend Jack and Gill Childcare and Forest school. .

Jack and Gill is a wonderful setting. My daughter is thriving there. At her previous pre school she really struggled with socialising, crying at drop off etc, one month here and she runs in, can tell me all her friends names, staff names and animals. She is so excited to attend every week and loves telling us all about her day. I would highly recommend. It Thank you for everything you do Tonia and Brian.

It’s a lovely setting but came away feeling disappointed for a few reasons as I had high hopes. Such a shame. Feel slightly robbed for the £25 waiting list fee too - no explanation to what is actually covers and after visiting many other nurseries who do not charge to be on a list I feel it’s an unnecessary fee.

Such a special nursery. My daughter went there from 1 years till she started school. Have always felt so at ease that she's being cared for really well. And as a childcare professional myself that isn't always easy to feel)! A really unique setting with such great opportunities for learning and socialising. I love that the kids get out in all weathers. I love that it's different to other nurseries. Don't expect all the art and craft hand outs that come with other nurseries (although there are some) but do expect above and beyond care, enriching experiences and happy muddy children at the end of the day. The mix of home from home and forest/ field setting gives such a wide variety of avenues to explore for the children and I was grateful at the variety of learning my daughter achieved. I don't think it can get more fun than an adventure in a mini bus each day too. I can't rave enough about this setting..my favourite aspects are the way everyone works as a team and the children learn to gain responsibility from early on, and I so valued the detailed handover we received at the end of each day. Miss it terribly but feel fortunate there are opportunities of holiday care so we can keep in touch!

My son loves to be outdoors so when I was looking for childcare it was important that he was outside as much as possible. When I found Jack and Gill’s I was so excited for him and I can tell you it has not disappointed at all. He has been at Jack and Gill’s for 9 months (he is 2 and 9 months) and he absolutely loves it. He goes in happy and confident which is so reassuring and heart warming to see. The activities my son takes part in every week are unique and endless and all develop the children’s social, emotional and physical skills in a really wonderful way. And the online journal allows you to see it all through regular photos and write ups. Tonia and Brian and their team are fantastic and so supportive with everything from the settling in period to toilet training. They have created a unique and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow and i’m so happy my son is part of it.

We absolutely love Jack and Gill's! My three years old son goes two days a week and thrives on being outdoors, learning about nature, how to use tools, care for animals and being with friends. His understanding of letters and numbers is developing thanks to the team building this knowledge into everything they do - he also learning French!! We then also send our five year old to Jack and Gill's during the school holidays. We are so pleased she gets to enjoy and experience the Forest School - best of both worlds. The team are fantastic and we would definitely recommend and have done to several local families.

Our youngest daughter has been with Brian and Tonia since she was 18 months old and she loves every minute there. They have a fantastic setting where the children thoroughly enjoy being outdoors and thrive because of it. Come rain or shine there's a huge range of activities for them to get stuck into and I'm sure no day is ever the same! We feel that our daughter's confidence and development is in a big part down to the experiences she has at Jack and Gill's. We cannot recommend Jack and Gill's enough and will continue to send our children there for years to come!
