We will never trust Douglas Jones and Mercer again. They helped dragging a straight forward house transfer for nearly two years and cost around £8000, We was charged for 100s of unnecessary emails, and work that was done by them on a previous date, we handed them Original documents that we gave strict instructions to return at the end of the sale, but yet gave them to the 3th party (not deeds), when we tried to contact them, they ether on sick, on holidays, out of the office, or and that classical one, they on the other phone can they call you back, which they never do. We tried they’re complaints process it was a joke, they just close ranks. Needless to say, We will never use this firm again..

A firm lacking honesty, integrity and professionalism This firm repeatedly changed their version(s) of events when challenged, lied about not having received documentation when there were paper-trails which proved otherwise, pushed for payment/sight of personal records for a bill they had in their own possession and which they had not presented to us (and we’d never claimed to have paid) and refused point blank to address any questions they didn’t want to acknowledge - despite evidence having been provided - in their complaints framework. This in turn made a mockery of their whole complaints process. That this type of behaviour was duplicated by Directors themselves at this stage of our dealing(s) with them, merely serves to show how deeply ingrained this type of behaviour is within the firm. Rather than show any willingness to address their factual inaccuracies (other than disingenuously trying to retrospectively reframe their wholly declarative claims such as ‘we can confirm’ and ‘there is no evidence’ as mere ‘suggestions’), DJM’s blatant untruths, their shifting goalposts and their persistence in behaving as if they were accountable to no-one means that they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the Legal Ombudsman. They then refused to communicate directly with us, even when it was at the Ombudsman’s bequest. The Ombudsman’s office concluded ‘the firm acted unreasonably in relation to both aspects of the complaint’ and their conduct ‘fall[s] below the standard of service we expect’. They recommended the firm pay us compensation – in line with their ‘significant’ category of distress and inconvenience guidance - for ‘the distress and inconvenience experienced’ to ‘reflect[s] the emotional impact of prolonged and unnecessary communication, … and the avoidable burden placed on [ourselves] to resolve matters that should have been managed by the firm as executor.’ They also pointed out that the negative impact the firm’s behaviour had exerted was both ‘genuine and avoidable’, especially as the inconvenience extended over several months when ‘the firm had multiple opportunities to resolve these matters more effectively.’ In short, this firm exhibited a complete lack of class, credibility and competency. Use entirely at your own risk.

Used DJM as a family for years, always go back as they are so helpful and great at what they do. also very reasonably priced given they are brilliant. Wouldn’t use anyone else. Highly recommend

Just wanted to thank Michael Price for some exemplary service during our recent commercial property purchase. Have never known a solicitor be so quick to respond and so professional. Has also helped me with commercial leases - definitely to be recommended

Although on this occasion I had only gone to Douglas-Jones Mercer to collect documents, it had been a long time since I'd previously been to their offices, and so many new premises had been built in the area, I had difficulty in recognising where was the entrance to their part of the estate! Thankfully a quick mobile call to DJM provided great instructions, and I arrived at their offices within a couple of minutes, where it was very easy to park and enter the building. Not only were their Reception staff easy to talk to and most efficient in the way they handled my request, but I'd hardly had time to sit, when the friendly and personable Solicitor (with whom I'd been in contact previously, about my documents) appeared, holding several files. After following procedures such as my providing ID to the Solicitor, I was soon on my way again, after what was a very smooth transfer of documents. DJM to date have been my Solicitors of choice, and I have always found them to be extremely efficient, friendly and approachable for all of my needs, and my visit to them yesterday was every bit as efficient, friendly and approachable as it has been on every previous contact with them. Thank you

I used this Solicitors for conveyancing and had a really bad experience, I had to chase for anything to be done. The process took way longer than it should have. Adding insult to injury, when I paid my bill they came back 2 months later asking for money for items they "forgot" to bill me for. In the mean time they didn't register me with the land registry. Avoid

We had Angharad Lloyd as our solicitor who was fab. She was very responsive and helpful, so much so that when our first sale fell through (the sellers withdrew) we immediately re-instructed her as our solicitor when we found another property to purchase, which flew through the process quickly.

Solicitors fairly good. If you want to catch Covid 19 you should definitely go here. Solicitors were walking around the office with no care in the world no masks and no 2 meter rule. Avoid this place at all cost

They extended a lease for a flat in Swansea in a timely manner. However as soon as all the payments were made they did not bother sending the finalised lease and land registry documents. It is more than 2 months that I am waiting. I have sent 4 emails and made one phone call and the paperwork is still sitting on their desk!
