Amazing place, we found it unexpectedly and were pleasantly surprised. Huge selection of boardgames- price to play them were very good. Food on the more expensive side but had good options available. Overall highly recommend
Went for a pokemon event and there was a lot to say The positives, the menu is unique compared to other places, I likes the selection, simple yet creative. Drinks menu was fantastic with cold and hot options and different syrups and the staff behind the bar were lovely Issue was the event, there are some very toxic people in there. One of the players who is also a judge (I won't say names) made jokes about sensitive subjects and was overall rude and shifty, I also found out he has been harassing other businesses by leaving 1 star reviews without visiting facilities and making negative comments at local businesses on social media (yes people open to opinions but the comments made is just compensating for something) Other players seem secluded, you try to get involved and it feels like they made there own group and exclude others. It was a shame because some people were really nice and I am worried this will affect a business. I feel this rating will go up when I try DnD nights but at the moment my first impression wasn't the greatest.
Hired the room on a Sunday for my brother's 40th birthday. Staff were very helpful from start to finish. Great service, lovely warm room, and relaxing atmosphere. Also - massive bonus; their vegan chickpea curry is stunning! My thanks to Amelia for having been hot-on with communication.
2nd time coming here to play boardgames and look forward to coming back again. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a large selection of games upstairs and downstairs, loads to choose from with a range of more simple and advances games. The food was lovely too, and the cocktails we had last time were great.
We became members not long after the boardgame cafe opened. It was well worth it as we've spent lots of evenings and afternoons there. Everyone is very friendly and there's a really nice, chilled atmosphere. There's a good range of games for all levels. There's a good menu with a mixture of light bites and meals. We've had oatcakes, pizzas, nachos and lots of cake. Food has always been nice and fresh. It's worth a visit just for the milkshakes. They also have a fab range of cocktails that are 2 for £10 on Thursdays!
Had a great time here with my son. They're allowing children to game for free through the summer holidays, as long as they're with a paying adult. He loved the bubblegum ice cream milkshake. There's a fantastic array of games available and the staff are more than happy to help you grasp the rules if it's one you're not familiar with. Friendly staff and great drinks options too! Will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
We had a great visit to Long Rest cafe this week. Myself and three friends who I went with had never been before but we will definitely be back. A great vibe in there and hundreds of games to choose from. Simple food choices (bagels or pizza) but perfect for what you need and delicious milkshakes. The staff were very very good and were on hand to teach us any rules to the games we played and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a great visit!
Love love love love love. Brilliant venue, amazing vibe, incredibly friendly staff, tasty beverages, great selection of boardgames, clearly passionate people about what they do. I can spend many an hour enjoying a chilled time with friends playing boardgames! What I particularly love is that you could quite happily drop in for a coffee or a cocktail, ignore the boardgames and still be happy. Definitely one of my favourite venues in the vicinity!
