   My 15-year-old son and I (age 47) train in Muay Thai and Kickboxing at Blackbelt Academy, and our experience has consistently surpassed expectations. Since joining, we’ve both made significant progress, physically and mentally, and genuinely look forward to every session.    Couldn’t recommend this academy anymore! Both my boys have been going for a couple of years. My eldest struggles with confidence and self believe but black belt academy have helped him immensely with this. It’s more than just a karate school as it teaches much more than that!! Every person in the academy matters and they learn such a variety of skills from kicks and punches to all sorts of forms of the sport! If your looking for a karate school I would 10000% recommend BBA!!

   Great vibe and tuition at this dojo. My sons (14 and 9) have been coming for a year for kickboxing recreation and fitness and both really enjoy the sessions. They don't want to compete and are not that bothered about grading but no one minds and they love the sparring and training and trying to improve their techniques. The informal mentoring by the older members is very nice to see and the coaches are really friendly and approachable. I think the price is excellent for the multiple opportunities the boys get to train each week. There are a couple of older girls too the days we go - we love to see it! My favourite thing is the gentle, positive emphasis on the mental side of martial arts - mindset and self-discipline - as well as the physical side. Highly recommend :)

   I have trained at the Blackbelt Academy for over 20 years alongside my children. We have achieved our Black Belts through the supportive tuition and care that we have received. It has been a life transforming experience, one that has helped us both physically and mentally. As important has been the connections we have made through the Academy, which we have found to be a very supportive and nurturing environment where people take the time to help each other. It has been a privilege to see the many people enter the doors of the Black Belt Academy and develop as people.

   Our nine year old has been learning with Grandmaster Vince and Sensei Maisie since he was four - first at little dragons and now junior karate. The instructors are friendly, approachable and really experienced at getting the best out of young people. We are impressed with not only the physical fitness and skill that our son has gained but also his focus and concentration. His little brother has been in little dragons for a year or two now and absolutely loves it too.

His fitness, ability and confidence is improving and he's enjoying telling his school friends about his lessons and belt gradings.
