   Recently reopened and what a pleasure to visit. We have walked, cycled and driven to this pub. Situated on the main road from Biddulph to Congleton, and a stones throw from the Biddulph valley way, it’s a perfect place for a pit stop. Warm, welcoming and relaxed, serving basic pub grub, but done just right and at a reasonable price! Staff are friendly and welcoming and after a couple of visits, remember you, which adds to the experience. Good selection of beers and wines, with Timothy Taylor being a very nice pint.

   The food was delicious and beautifully presented (not overfacing) and the staff friendly and efficient. What I fail to understand is why there weren't more people in there. Does it have something to do with the contact telephone number or failure to book on line? The old telephone number is apparently extinct on the website. In my opinion, it's a place well worth visiting and I shall certainly visit again.

   Friendly local pub serving excellent home cooked and tasty main courses with 3 real ales. We enjoyed attentive service and prompt delivery. Good portion size and definitely fulfilling as a lunchtime stop before we walked it off at the nearby National Trust Biddulph Grange gardens afterwards. One pub we’ll return to again on a future visit.

   Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are in Congleton. The music and overall vibe was super relaxed. The food was way beyond what we expected for a little country pub. My boyfriend had the steak burger and said it was the best he'd ever had. We shared a warm brownie for dessert and we didn't regret it. We will be back if we're in this part of the world again!
