We are moored up on the canal for a few days, we had to pick a prescription up. Thankfully we noticed the wonky pear around the corner, and decided to try it. Thank god we did they have a fantastic choice Of beers etc,Along with cake tea and coffee. All very reasonabley priced I hope we can get back again before we head off Thanks for a refreshing treat.
It was a quiet Thursday evening when we visited, but the Wonky Pear felt welcoming and the beer was great. What a lovely place with great character and a relaxing atmosphere.
Recommended. Quirky place with a very good choice of beers plus cakes and tea/coffee etc for the less adventurous. I saw 3 cask ales, all from the local Beartown Brewery, plus another 6 or 7 fonts with various craft ales, lagers and cider. I tried the Beartown Strawberry Sour, very nice although not the cheapest. Quiet when l visited and the landlord was only to happy to chat.
Lovely bar. The barman was friendly, the beers well kept and reasonably priced. The decor is relaxed and comfy and they are dog friendly. I recommend
Lovely pub. Cosy beer on tap. People and dog friendly. Perfect for a quick pint (or more...!). Plus they have excellent homemade cake, not sure what more you could want :)
Lived in Mow Cop for 16 years but never been for a drink in Cong. Decided to walk there this winter with a couple of friends and we ended up here. A brilliant pub! Small (not a brewery barn), plenty of atmosphere and brilliant well kept beer. We are already planning to visit again in the New Year.
Had a lovely wreath making class here upstairs, great fun, wonderful lady. One of the best hot chocolates yummy. X
Lovely quaint place, amazing. I can deffo vouch for the excellent service and the coffee and cake was very nice. I didn't have an alcoholic drink on this occasion, but as I love various Beartown Brewery ales, of which the Wonky Pear is part of, I know that will be good to :) I cannot believe it has taken me this long to try this place out, I will definitely be back
What a wonderful little boozer. Very warm welcome, excellent service, and a fine selection of well-kept ales on offer. Good live music and a really nice atmosphere. You can tell the regulars really love this place. Will definitely be back if we're passing through again.
