Stayed here in a family room for 2 nights. The room was on one of the top floors facing the road which was quite noisy. On the plus side the room was clean and had everything we needed. We opted for a meal on our first night and mine was rather disappointing in size although tasty.
Had a lovely meal for my birthday recently and an added bonus of a bottle of fizz. Kebabs lovely and nice different salad. Just large portions for us. Would be good to have smaller plate choice. Food service excellent and very friendly. Hard to attract the attention of the bar staff to pay but otherwise excellent evening.
I came this morning and had a great breakfast and coffee whilst having a change of scenery from working at home. This evening I am back again enjoying the quiz night. Whenever you go to the Bears Head you can expect great food and drink and a great time. Daisy my assistance dog is always welcomed and enjoys being their along with the other dogs. This has to be the best pub and quiz night in Cheshire.
Lovely place and an amazing service. We had a lovely gentlemen named Todd who was amazing, super kind and understanding towards our dietary needs and constantly was checking ensuring it was correct! The food itself was ok, the portion size for the price I felt was a bit small and some things that where mentioned on the menu did not come with the meal such as the marble pencil with the double chocolate brownie. But overall a lovely place, great atmosphere and lovely service!
We stayed here overnight on the way to a funeral in Cumbria, so we were not in the best spirits. We had a lovely meal, the food was beautiful cooked. It is a pub, but the food was better than some restaurants I have been to. All nicely presented and everything nice and clean. The public toilets were also really clean which gives me reassurance about the other areas. I have seen some negative reviews of the staff, but we found them to be very attentive and when there was no customer interaction they set to work cleaning, which was lovely to see. They run a quiz on Thursdays which we would happily go to. We stayed over for one night, everything was perfect, but I will look to review this separately.
Lovely place, stunning exterior, gorgeous large but cosy and well separated interior with open fires and beams. Great service throughout from Kirsten. Great Sunday lunch. This is Vintage Inns but has the feel and appearance of a well run independent. Nice atmosphere, very popular, and rightly so! Slightly different experience when we went on a Friday recently, very busy but there seemed to only be 3 members of staff running everything. They were certainly doing their best but could have done with an extra pair of hands. We had the valentines menu which was good and a fair price.
Lovely place, great friendly helpful staff beautiful food big portions the fish & chips are massive! I went out with a few ex work colleagues, will return with the family very very soon!!
From the minute we walked through the door the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The ales are excellent and the triple roast on the Sunday was fantastic. The room was snug and cosy with plenty of supplies for your stay and the breakfast in the morning was delicious and really set us up for the rest of the day. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Cheshire.
