Came for Sunday dinner yesterday. Place looks so much better since it's been done up, minus the women's toilets being upstairs. Had to wait quite a while for our drinks (they were only cokes). After we had ordered our food the waiter came over and said one of the few things they did on the menu that wasn't a Sunday dinner, they don't actually do anymore and they just haven't updated the menu. I thought that was very poor and disappointing, the menu should be updated when things are permanently taken off or added, especially the online menu. Or at least we could have been told when we first sat down, not after having looked at the menu for 15 minutes and then been allowed to order the thing they don't do anymore.

A great looking character pub with good selection of joules draughts. Upstairs was spacious and again characterful. Pub manager and staff friendly and helpful. I do believe this part of the pub area is turning into an events area and the pub opposite was having renovations to become the pub bit in a few weeks. Pub grub was nice..fires are generally the same wherever you go hence 4 star

What a fantastic pub!! Booked for dinner last night and had the most delicious steak! So flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The staff were fantastic, my husband asked if he could buy one of the t shirts the staff were wearing and was given one for free! Thank you to the lovely kind lady who sorted this for him (sorry I didn’t get your name). The pub itself is gorgeous, cosy and atmospheric. Will definitely visit again.

A fantastic welcome. A must visit if you are Market Drayton. The food was delicious. We were there around one on Mothers day. Five of us had roast beef, and one had the roast chicken. Staff were friendly, attentive, and interested in you as a customer. We all had deserts, including apple crumble, cheese cake, and brownie. Craft Beer had a taste of more, and after a few scoops, we sensibly headed home. I will be visiting here again in the next few months. They are renovating across the car park a wooden structure that looks full of character.

Excellent beer, their pale ale is the best, good pub grub, over all really good value, staff are friendly and attentive, well looked after by Stacey.

Went for Sunday lunch with my partner at the weekend. Have to say it was one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in a long time. Everything on the plate tasted amazing and the atmosphere and team were just as good. Told my other half that I’m going back next weekend for another.

We went here to start an evening in town with another couple and decided to have a bite to eat with our drinks. The food was really very good and we will be returning with our sons to sample some more. It was also nice to see so many dogs in the pub as there are few traditions still 'permitted' in modern public houses and the atmosphere was correspondingly friendly and welcoming. The pub itself is slightly surprising as the exterior doesn't do justice to how well the inside has been decorated and renovated. There are lot of nooks and crannies to find out and the staff were excellent throughout, we rarely waited long to be served or to have empty glasses cleared. One star off for the heat. It was a lovely mild evening so I'd gone out in just a thin base-layer fleece and I was roasting. Other customers were equally flustered stripping down to t-shirts and opening nearby windows to seek some draught. The good news is that the beer was very good, so I had a good excuse for a second.

Having been to Market Drayton before by canal, and being a small town we weren't expecting much change. What a surprise to find this place. What a fantastic Pub/Brewery by Joules. Wonderfully decorated with original features from recovered buildings. Coupled with excellent friendly staff and good quality tasty well priced beers, some brewed on the premises in small batches. This seems to be the model for this brewery featuring in other towns in the Midlands. A must visit, food too. Bonus, we asked about taxis back to our boat, and 2 bar staff kindly gave us a lift. Don't ask for the same favour though, please.

Sunday 12th December 21: Another absolutely delicious Sunday roast lunch with this time, our family! It's definitely one of the best Sunday roasts available here in Market Drayton! The chefs, all the staff, the warm, cosy atmosphere and great drinks and ales all brewed here at Joules's Brewery is just amazingly perfect. Thanks again for a fantastic service, food, friendly staff and welcome... YOU ARE ALL STARS...WELL DONE! See you again soon and definitely before Christmas... Tuesday 16th November 2021: Popped in with two boater friends whom had never been to my favourite Inn and Joule's Brewery. A big shout out to Megan, Jake, Natasha, Becca and Emma who served us all throughout the evening with huge smiles and warmth and for looking after me when I stayed a wee bit longer to have something to eat. Had the house Classic burger, with coleslaw and chips and boy was it delicious or what...and went down perfectly! Thanks David and Ashley in the kitchen for a most tasty burger which was much needed definitely!! Sunday 10th October 2021: Reserved ahead a table for 4 of us for the Sunday Roast dinner lunch in the gorgeous panelled dinner area as our boater friends did make it in time for this to happen, just perfect! The staff were absolutely brilliant and so friendly and welcoming from our arrival. We had cards on our table with a set out selection of what was available and what we would like and these were used for the staff to go and plate up for us at the carvery food area. So much better than having to wait in line and go and serve oneself as per normal in other restaurant or pubs we've been to for a Sunday roast dinner lunch, how clever and well thought out....well done Joule's Brewery, Market Drayton!!! The 2/3 courses lunch prices were such excellent value and obviously we had the 3 course option...However, we shared two starters as well as two puddings and it worked out just superb. The two rounds of starters were 8th October 2021: By Joule's, it's good to be back...at last! Still my favourite pub/Brewery on the canal by far and the Chardonnay and my pint/ or three actually of Slumbering Monk Ale was perfection and so welcoming. We popped in for some lunch and decided to have two rounds of the Tender Rump Steak, caramelised onion and hot horseradish Bloomer Loaf sandwiches...wow, absolutely delicious and yummy! What an amazing place and maybe I should keep it a secret and all to ourselves! Thanks to all the chefs and kitchen and A BIG SHOUT OUT to EVE and BECCA especially for making us feel totally at home again, so welcoming and very friendly makes us want to come back always.. We're thinking of bringing our boater friends here for a Sunday Roast Dinner meal if they get to Market Drayton by then or on time... May 2021: One of our favourite pubs come Brewery and the brewery itself is pretty amazing..you can actually see them brewing the Joule's ales through the big glass floor to ceiling windows...the smell is extremely deliciously sweet and hoppy, chocolatey, coffee...yummy!! We've visited every time we've chugged into Market Drayton and the food is fantastic and the drinks as well...especially their own Joule's ales and Green Monkey craft lager. I usually drink the Joule's "Monk" ale and it's a gorgeous, delicious pint and definitely one of the best out there! The staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive...and the service is top notch, well done to them all. Thanks for such a lovely time Joule's The Red Lion Brewery.. ps. Try their special "sweet potato fries" which are absolutely yummy! These light nibbles go really great with your delicious pint of Joule's ale or fantastic glass of white Chardonnay...
